Drill hole for anchor, place anchor, attach the cover with the screw and you are done. The smart features are great because I can monitor them from my phone at any time. This does exactly what it says it does, and that is always great! Installation is very easy, pretty much plug and play. Install the app, and add the devices and you are done. It's a smoke alarm and as a smoke alarm, it works great. We tested it with a simple test and the alarm went off, and it alerted my phone, and worked exactly as I would have hoped. Then we simply stopped thinking about it.. Then, it went off, and interestingly, the thing went off because another smoke alarm was going off, and it has this feature that it hears a smoke alarm, and it can go off. That was great, I immediately got the notification to my phone and then ran around my house. Turns out, yep, we had a small fire in the garage, and I happened to have the old smoke alarm that we replaced in there (we replaced them all with the smart ones, and I put the working, but no longer required one on the shelf in the garage.) This thing is great! I feel safer knowing I'll be notified if something happens, and I love the all go off when one goes off, honestly, I just love this thing now! ... show more

I brought this back in 2023 because I had squatters who kept smoking in my downstairs unit. The base station crapped out for some reason & will not work again. No matter how many times I reset it or change the outlet it just won’t work. Save your money
