The new Wyze scale S gives very inaccurate readings. It looks and feels like a cheap scale versus previous version Wyze scale. I wanted to like this thing and thought it’s a good upgrade. But it CONSISTENTLY gives me different readings, every time you get on it within a few seconds time frame. Never same weight from one step on to another. I can put it right back to where I first stepped on it and it’ll say 5 to 10 kg heavier! Never wasted your money on this piece of junk if you have the old Wyze scale. this replacement scale is closer to what I believe is my true and accurate weight, based on weighing on a public scale that is known for its frequent calibrations and accuracy. the Scale S is 1.5% higher (and yes, the Scale S was recalibration).

I couldn't understand why the WYZE scale only showed my weight, BMI and one other measurement. I read through the information with the scale, checked my phone to be sure I had "allowed" the scale to interact with my health data. Finally had to search support groups online. A decent scale, especially for the price. I will say that I wish the app had an easier way to see the weight on previous weigh ins. There is a graph, but you have to tap exactly on the line, right above the day to see the weight. And if you forgot to weigh in on one day, there's no way of knowing, so you sit there and tap the graph to see a weigh in that doesn't exist. It would be better if the graph had dots on the graph on the days you weight in that way you know exactly which days you weighed in and the dot would be easier to tap. Or better yet, eliminate the tap completely and just have the weight of that day above or below the dot. Also if you're hoping the other metrics on the scale are accurate then keep hoping. None of these scales can do that accurately. They might be able to give you a baseline but a couple electrodes going through your feet cannot measure all of that data accurately. If that stuff is important to you, you are better off doing an in-body scan at your local gym. Regardless, the weight seems to be pretty accurate, and it is cool that it will differentiate between people in your home without doing anything other then stepping onto the scale. A simple test of holding a 3 pound book on the scale increases body fat by one percent??? I purchased this product to support a body toning goal set in Jan and have measured and jotted down daily results for the last 60 days as Feb 27, 2022. It is an impressive and inexpensive product claiming to measure a huge number of metrics of body composition. It fits my formula to purchase a product that must pass performant divided by cost. I’ve lost a couple pounds and about one percentage of body fat with daily exercise according to this scale. By the way, my measurements have always been performed in the morning, after bathroom, and before breakfast for relative consistency. Here’s a few interesting observations that I wanted to share for the awareness of this product’s body fat percentage output, the metric that I cared the most about. Drinking or discharging liquid affects fat percentage output from the scale. This makes sense since liquid affects the body bio-impendence uses to calculate body composition with this (and many other of similar type) weight scale. Similarly, consuming a meal would also affect both the fat percentage and weight, obviously. What’s highly questionable is the accuracy of fat percentage output from a simple experiment that I conducted today as I started to doubt the claims of this product for this particular metric. Holding a 3-pound of book, I recorded 1 percent increases in fat. The same metrics reverts back to the previous number after dropping the book. The algorithm appears unable to distinguish non-conductive weight of book from conductive weight of body to accurately calculate the fat percentage. It appears to follow a linear slope based on two datasets that I observed. I would further speculate this slope was built based off profiles of users who input the required data when first set up the app – sex, height, age range etc. So once the average profile is set or continuously being refined, the output of fat percentage is biased toward the measured weight in that instance, not a measurement of actual fat percentage that I expected. The experimental results suggested that fat percentage is precise but inaccurate. This implication also sowed doubts on the accuracy of other metrics – lean body mass, muscle mass etc. On the positive side, in a range of $20-30, this is a sophisticate, visually pleasing scale simple to use. The scale turns on right away when you step on it, and based on your first use, it knows how to detect when it is you or someone else on the scale. There is no way to switch between users without one of the users getting on the scale first, then it asks, is this ______ (user's name). It also shows the Bluetooth connection is active on the scale screen before the app detects the connection, so sometimes I have to refresh a bunch of times. The baby/pet mode forces you to weigh yourself first (and it records it) even if I don't want to weigh myself right now (maybe at night, or after a big meal?). All in all, I really like it. I like that I can track a bunch of people's weights (so I know how much my kids weigh when I have to fill out a form or have a virtual visit with the doctor).
