I bought the usual frame size of 20x16. But the canvas fell short on two sides. So if I wanted to display the finished painting I would need to use a hard frame instead of painting around the edges. I bought the painting because I enjoy the look of the seashore and open air feeling. There’s a lot of painting that requires straight lines that can be intimidating. Well, I finally finished this painting, "Look Up to the Sky." See attached photo. It turned out ok, I guess. Cons: There are some problems with the sky. The stars, on the painting, look like confetti. I am not happy with that. The original photo on Amazon shows a beautiful star studded sky. I had wondered how that would be accomplished with a paint brush, and so now I know. The paint, as others have mentioned, was very thick and clotted. I found that I had to add a few drops of warm water to every single pot of paint. I then allowed the paint to sit for about 24 hours and when I opened them again, they were much easier to spread. I wonder how old the paint is. The brushes were fairly decent, but the hairs began to fall out very quickly and so I switched over to my better, personally purchased, brushes. Finally, others have noted that some of the spaces are very, very thin lines. That is true. Fortunately, my magnifying lamp was very helpful. Pros: the numbers were very clear and I had to, only rarely, refer to the photo I took of the canvas prior to painting. See the attached photo. It did come with a paper diagram, but it's easier to enlarge a photo on my phone than use a magnifying glass on a sheet of paper. The canvas was not folded but rolled which made it much easier to paint without ironing. I did have to use blue painter's tape in order to train it to stay open, but it comes off easily and won't interfere with stretching it onto a frame, should I want to do that. Some of the colors were very, very vibrant. I LOVE the teal greens and blues. Teal green is my favorite color and there is a lot of it in this kit. There are 22 colors, with #19 & #20 having 2 pots each. I definitely needed that much, even after adding water to the pots so they would spread easier. In summary, the painting turned out nicely, and the problems were basically due to the paint rather than the picture itself. But I am disappointed in how the stars turned out; it will be that one issue that may keep me from wanting to frame and displaying this painting. ... show more

So far, this has been one of my favorite paint-by-number projects that I've finished this year. The image was printed on good-quality canvas, and the numbers and lines were clear. There were some portions that were pretty tiny to see, but that's to be expected with all paint-by-number projects. The box came with the correct amount of paint included, everything was present. I especially loved the set of paintbrushes that were included. There was a good variety of sizes, and the brushes didn't split as much as other sets I've tried. My one concern with every paint-by-numbers set would be the paint quality, as so often the paint I receive would be dried up, but with this set each pot was still in good condition. The final image matched what was advertised and the colors are the right shade. This took a little over a month to complete. ... show more

I have not done this yet. I tend to be slow with these projects, and I have to turn in reviews for my Vine promptly, so this review is based on what I see in the package. This is one of the nicer paint by numbers I have seen for looking like a realistic picture, so I am hoping it looks as good finished. I have a coastal theme in my home, and this is exactly the type of thing I would want to paint to put up. The canvas came in rolled up, so there were no fold creases, except it needs to be flattened out. They did have a piece of tape keeping the roll closed together that I had to use a knife to break as I could not find an end to it, but it did not stick too much to the canvas and did not tear it. They give you the canvas with the numbered parts, a paper piece of the same, and a small picture of the finished product, along with the paint pots and a small set of paint brushes and hardware for hanging. I have collected a few sets of tiny detail brushes specifically to help with these paint by numbers, and I would recommend anyone doing them do the same thing if they can as there are some narrow and tiny spots to paint on this. They do give you brushes for the tiny parts, but I feel it is easier to have a lot of tiny brushes ready to go for these. This would probably not be the best for an absolute beginner to tackle because of that. It looks like it will be a lot of fun though. There are some brights colors (the flowers hanging at the top have bright pink), and then there are pastel colors, so it seems to have a good mix. I will update if I run into issues later, but it seems comparable to other good quality sets I have gotten. ... show more
