  • he said it was fine, ppl r too picky
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: Standard
John Cena's the man...ask my 18 tr old son. He loves this game. I heard a lot of sorry reviews after purchasing it, but when I asked my son about it, he said it was fine, ppl r too picky. I then said, I did not want him keeping it if it's indeed inferior and he said it wasn't inferior - they were just looking for other wrestlers and he doesn't care which wrestlers were removed in the game. I hope that made sense. ... show more

  • A slight let-down from the brilliance that was WWE2K14 on Xbox360
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: Standard
The previous year's "WWE 2K14" was a better game than this, overall, on the Xbox360. The gameplay is 99% the same. What has changed is that now it's a bit easier to "reverse" moves (when pressing the right trigger as the white indicator appears), which gives beginners a better chance. Also in online games, the gamertag appears over the head of the character you're controlling in game (and in the upper right corner) so you won't forget who you are playing against. The "microphone" icon above people's heads would glow green when the person was talking, so if you had them muted, you'd know they were trying to talk. So little improvements like that were welcome. There are a couple more "character specific" "OMG moments" (basically just a finisher that works in a specific scenario, like up against the corner post or the ropes) and a few other barely noticeable changes. The massive gameplay changes in the XboxOne and PS4 are not here, meaning the gameplay of those titles is going to be totally different. If you've played WWE 13, 2K14, you know what to expect. The speed, moves, etc. is all the same. The moves and animations for many of the existing characters have been changed around, and some moves take longer to pull off, but generally it's about the same and you can configure things so it's pretty close to the previous game (though purists like me will still complain). 2K15 did remove the ability to use custom music tracks for wrestler entrances, which is a huge downer. Of course online, other players would only hear silence for custom entrances (unless you held your mic up to the speaker!). In place of the "juke box" to hear wrestler entrance music during the menus, there's a (very short) list of pop songs, that if you didn't hate already, you'll be sick and tired of before too long and want to mute them, along with the repetitive commentary track (virtually identical to last year). Sadly, the online cheating is just as bad, if not worse, than it was with the previous game. Tons of players go around freezing people, doing teleporting unblockable moves, etc. with impunity. 2K games support has recently stated that the only way they'll enforce the anti-cheating measures against a player is if you send video footage of them cheating with their gamertag to support. Community Creations was ruined by 2K placing restrictions on how many items you could upload or download. Previously you could do both as much as you wanted. Now you start at at rank "Bronze" (show me somebody who has actually gotten past that, without just spamming fake downloads) where you can have 5 uploads (period) and download 10 items per day (2K16 allows you 20 downloads per day). There is a glitch wherein the first time you start downloading you can get as much downloads as you want, but as soon as you exit out, and come back, you've got the restriction permanently. Also, the baseball bat in extreme rules matches is now black (in honor of Sting). Other than that, most of the game is pretty much identical to how you remember from 2K14, except that the Single Player is now a lot of repetative and generic matches focused on the WWE programming of 2014. The Season Pass (that you have to buy separately, at least while it's still online) includes far more content, and makes up for the lack. "Beat the Streak" mode against Undertaker in 2K14 could be beaten by beating up the Deadman using weapons outside the ring, then tapping him out with a submission inside. This time you go against John Cena, but since there's a timer and DQ is on, you can just toss him outside the ring, slam him through a barricade or table, and win via "Count Out." Do this five times (after you play 5 matches with each of the NXT pre-selected guys) and you can now play against John Cena with anyone, and upload your scores online (whoop dee doo!). There just isn't much here to enjoy if you've already played 2K14. The real reason I bought this game at all (and got it used) was because I had enjoyed 2K14 so much and my friends were all playing this game, so it was essentially just a way to keep playing with them online. I would say, if you love (the male side of) NXT, circa 2014, and what was on WWE TV at the time, you'll love this game, but if you were a big fan of 2K14, you'll wonder what any of the fuss was about. The next gen version is a lot more slowed down, the graphics are better (with the waxy mannequin look given to the wrestlers who now appear to have really wet hair instead of hair made of plastic) and there's a really long, repetitive "MyCareer" mode thrown in, which apart from letting you use a custom character, I'm not sure is that much better than the single player we get in this game. Honestly, I enjoyed the single player in WWE 13 a lot better. None of these games are perfect by any means, the online cheating and the glitches, and wasted potential aside, they are generally some of the most fun you can have with a professional wrestling game these days. 2K16 isn't much different, but again, it improves a few things, and makes some things worse, and ends up being about the same thing we've been getting for years. ... show more

  • Eventually they'll get it right.
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: Standard
I bought both WWE 2K14 and 2K15. My review of 2K14 can be found in my history. I rate this one higher even though I don't think most gamers do. I'm going to explain the differences. The Create a Finisher is gone. The Create a Story is gone. The roster is much better in 2K15. The NXT and Showcase modes are relatively fun. Most of what I had read must have been based around WWE 2K15 on the XBone and PS4. This is a near carbon copy of 2K14 on the Xbox 360. You can still Create Divas in the 360 version. No match options were removed, it's exactly the same as 2K14 match options. One negative is the Community Creations community isn't near as active on 2K15. You can download pretty much any wrestler you can name on 2K14's Community Creations, not so on 2K15, but there's still some good created wrestlers, especially if you like Indy wrestling. If you're into International wrestling, then you would probably prefer 2K14's Community Creations. 2K15 has 1-2 created versions of the biggest name international wrestlers like Great Muta, Cibernetico, Liger, and you're as likely to find 1 bad one for every 1 good one. I had read "limited creation functions", but that doesn't apply as much on the 360. It hasn't changed since 2K14. What has changed is how Community Creations works. On 2K14, you can download the max 100 wrestlers if you want to in one night. On 2K15 it limits you to 10 downloads per 24 hour period. There's a simple way around it, but the way around the limit doesn't work if you're downloading logos, arenas, move-sets. It's a little annoying, but the default roster had at least 20 wrestlers in it that I had to download on 2K14. The game plays smoothly, character models are a little crisper than in 2K14 and I don't feel as distracted when playing it as I did in 2K14. I kept wanting to create a story, create a finisher, I just knew I would figure out how to make a finisher that didn't look herky jerky, but it didn't work. This 2K15 has more moves since it retains all the moves from 2K14 and adds all the moves for the new wrestlers who weren't in last year's game. Since I don't watch wrestling much, most of the moves are new to me so I didn't miss the create a finisher option. Other complaints I've seen on 2K15 is the removal of custom entrance music and the custom entrances only include one generic motion. Those are both right. I usually play wrestling or even fighting games for an hour or so and it's just to relax. I turn the entrances to off. So those removed features aren't noticeable to the way I play the game. But they are gone for those who do like custom music and custom entrances. Both features were in 2K14. It just came down to me preferring this roster over 2K14's. It's a good wrestling game. I will say it's not as good as those old wrestling games on the N64. But I've been saying that about every wrestling game I've played since Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy and the WCW vs games on the N64. This 2K15 is the better buy of the two as I ended up sinking fifty dollars in a used version of 2K14, whereas I only spent the price for 2K15 plus 2 DLCs that were only seven dollars. ... show more

My kids love it and play it all the time. I like it because unlike many other games your not constantly having to purchase additional items to enjoy the game and it allows for local and online multiplayer which many other games do not.
