I have thick quads and these fit with ease. I wore them to hike up a mountain where the temperature was about 10°F. I was surrounded by snow and wind and never once felt cold. I even sat in the snow from time to time. The seems have solid stitching and the fleece inside is comfortable. My only complaint is that they can ride a little low in the back. While I liked the fit of these as long as I added a belt (the waist was kind of big) they are definitely NOT waterproof. They have a soft cloth type material on them in spots by the knees and the waist and those were soaked by the time I was done. My 11yo is in size 14 pants. I was confident ordering the 14/16. I had him try on the snow pants right after they arrived and I’m glad I did! He had a pair of form fitting/tighter sweatpants on and the snow pants would/could not pull up to his waist. They were even too tight on his legs. He could barely walk in them, let alone run around and play. They *may* have fit if he didn’t wear pants under the snow pants, but that’s not how it’s done, at least in Michigan, USA. Also the material did not appear to be waterproof, the material was not the shiny umbrella like material like “regular” snow pants are. Maybe, just maybe, they sprayed something on the material to make it waterproof, but I’m not taking that chance. My 6 year old granddaughter needed snow pants for her Buffalo visit. I bought them large to last for more a one Christmas and they were great. The bottom is narrow so without high snow boots her socks did get wet. Since we had 4 feet of snow, I bought her snow boots and problem solved.
