It’s not magic but it’s helpful. Removing paper is a tedious job. The scoring helps to allow the paper to become saturated (water or remover) and easier to peel away. There is no need to apply a lot of pressure. Doing so is more likely to hurt the tool than the walls. It does not damage the walls. Very manual process. It covers as much area as your arm can. Had a small old wallpaper job in my bathroom. So I bought this scoring tool and the chemical spray The purpose of the tool is to perforate the outer vinyl or foil covering so it can be saturated and peeled off to expose the paper backing. No need for the tool on the paper backing as it will absorb the chemical spray. A light pressure figure 8 rolling pattern works best. Start with a small area first to acclimate with the pressure needed to perforate the outer layer. Then spray and Use a wide spatula to scrape and peel off the paper. ... show more

Was using to take wallpaper off bathroom walls. Its an average size bathroom with maybe 70/80sq' of wallparered walls to strip. To he first one broke after about 50 of the 80 sq' of wall space I Wasn't pushing too hard and i was following all recommendations for use. Beyond the toothed wheel breaking off, it is a nice, productive product. We ordered a second one, same brand and everything, because it is a good product, just gotta be gentle with use ... show more

I used this to remove bathroom wallpaper. It works. I’m sure I could have bought a scoring tool at a hardware store that would have done the job just as well. I also bought the solution and scraper from the same vendor, but after doing the work I’ve learned that neither of those is necessary. Next time, I’ll relay on hot water and vinegar (or steam) and a painter’s five in one tool instead. ... show more

The product worked I guess but I didn't like the holes/dents it was leaving in the wall so I decided not to continue to use it. Truthfully, even if this product wasn't putting holes/dents in the wall, this tool is completely unnecessary. All you need is a scrapper with razer blades in them, and the wall paper removal spray this brand sells. With that spray and a scrapper, removing wallpaper is pretty simple. ... show more

I had been removing the paper without any tool. Using this isn’t fun but it does help the wallpaper come off easier. I would recommend it to anyone removing wallpaper.
