My daughter revived an old, weathered board with new wheels & grip tape - she painted a mountain scene on the bottom and this topographical grip tape was the perfect accompaniment on top for a cool design! I personally cut the grip tape off the top with an Xacto knife. It was hard to get the rhythm down to make it work smoothly until I discovered the angle to pull back. What worked best was putting the end of the board against my chest and pulling the Xacto knife at a 45° backwards angle, tilted towards the top of the board towards me, then it would slide smoothly and cut perfectly. Update 1/21/26 the tape is still strongly adhered (no indication it wants to peel/curl up at any of the edges and no obvious signs of wear (we generally ride about 3-4x a week for around 30-45min). Very happy buyer —————— Love the topo theme, I know its skateboard deck tape but I used it for improving the deck on my dog powered scooter which prior to application was just smooth metal. Just make sure the surface is clean and free of debris before applying. I used a paper template of my scooter deck to ensure I got the size/shape right, then placed that on the paper backing side of the deck tape before tracing with a pencil. The deck tape is a heavy grit so make sure your cutting implement can handle it cuz it will mess up the blade of nice sharp scissors. Would buy again if the need arose. It has lasted thru the wet fall and freezing winter weather so far and no issues at this time with peeling/losing adhesive. ... show more
