My wife took this away from me and now it lives in her craft room next to her big stacked tool box. She has put small things in there and loves this little tool box. This box is very small so don’t plan on using it for a lot of tools. It is also made of very thin steel and the drawers have cheap slides that will bind if you’re not paying attention. There is no hasp to close the top down nor handles to move it with. You have to just pick the whole box up by the bottom to move it around. The box was packed well and arrived undamaged and the paint looks good. In a nutshell this little box is more of a novelty than an actual useful tool box but as long as that is understood it can be utilized all over the house or shop for small items and look good doing it. I installed 2 hasps for the lid and a handle on the top. The whole purpose of a toolbox is to carry your tools, and the only way to carry this is with 2 hands from the bottom. I used pop rivets for the added hardware. Not so sure I'd trust it loaded up with sockets, but with some dividers it could make a nice automotive electrical toolkit, or all the PEX stuff maybe. I started this review with a 4 star rating but had to change it to 2 stars after I checked it with a magnet. A magnet will stick a little to some grades of stainless but the metal on this box basically grabbed my magnet out of my hand. False claims will always lose stars on my reviews. The drawer rails are just metal to metal painted slides, no rollers, bearings, or nylon. I think a light sanding and greasing of them might improve function making them slide easier. Once I try that I might use it every day for small, daily use items on the bench or around the house. This would be a great starter box for a small child. Could be good for tools that are infrequently used around the house, a socket set that needs a case or box, or crafts. The "Magnetic Locking" in the title can be misleading. It doesn't "lock". The "lock" is referring to the magnets at the back of the drawers to help keep them from sliding out so easily while being moved. "Portable" only refers to be light and not so big and bulky. Good product made bad by claim of "stainless". Poor value. In my opinion this is twice the cost it should be. ... show more

I got this for my wife as something of a joke, she’s always making of fun of my big red boxes. It turns out the loved this tool box. She took into her lab space at the university to consolidate the small tools and accessories that she uses to run her electron microscope. It works great and looks cool. There are some limitations on this box, without drawer glides the drawers tend to bind if you yank on them (knocked a star off for this) and it’s not designed for heavy steel wrenches and tools. It’s a bench mount toolbox without handles or locks to carry it around so I wouldn’t call it portable. It is, however, cute as a button and painted a distinctive pinkish red. If you’ve got small tools, sewing paraphernalia or pencils/brushes in a studio this would be useful and is a great little visual gag. I’d recommend. ... show more

This little toolbox really can hold a lot of tools, screws ect. It is perfect for small spaces and work benches! The red is classic and matches my husband's larger toolbox perfectly. This WORKPRO Mini Metal Tool Box is so cute, but it has some drawbacks. There are no slides on the drawers and they open and close pretty roughly. There is not a stopper on the lid and if you let it drop backwards you would probably bend it or damage the piano hinge. It's the perfect size for what I'm using it for, to hold my bobbins for my longarm quilting machine. There is a nice, rubberized sheet that is lining the top and the drawers. For my use it is probably going to last forever and it looks very cute in my quilting room. ... show more
