  • Accurate tool
Size: 8 inch
May not be as durable as my vintage Stanley , but will serve my purpose. Also, more economical then the great Red product.

  • accurate but delicate
Size: 12 inch
Compared to the woodpecker 1281, this feels like a thin wafer. The 1281 is only $20 more when on sale (as it is today and I am buying it for $109), and is much more sturdy. When I pick this up, I have to be careful and hold it like a baby for fear of dropping and denting or bending it. The woodpecker you can grab and bang around without worry. However, this does offer the marking holes, so that is a plus, so its better for marking up than squaring up. 4 starts because it is way overpriced for such a thin delicate item. ... show more

  • Awesome
Size: 12 inch
If you're a true craftsman consider yourself lucky. This little company is making some of the very best layout/squaring tools period. Unbelievably accurate and solid.

  • A Delight to Use
Size: 100mm
My 300 mm Starrett combination square is very accurate and versatile but I needed something smaller as well. I got the 200 mm version of this square. It did not fall short in accuracy and it turned out to be my go to square unless I needed the extra length (or the versatility) of my combination square. However, something even smaller would be more convenient for me in many cases, provided that it is as accurate. The 100 mm version is the very thing. It is a perfectly square precision tool and a delight to use. It is now my go to square that reminds me how often I was using a bulkier square than I actually needed. As a matter of fact, I could not do with only a 100 mm square but ironically, it is the one that I now use the most. I can recommend it to those who need a very accurate small square. ... show more

  • Nice and accurate.
Size: 8 inch
exchanged first unit as it was not square. Failed the pencil test. I realize the unit could be loosened and adjusted but at the time, I had no reference to know if it was the blade or just the way it sat in the handle. 2nd unit was very close to my brand new reference (costing more than 2x the price). It still needed to be adjusted in the handle. Less than half a thou out. Best to not expect this to be your reference square but once adjusted, it can almost function as such. It's finicky for judging squareness of an item but great for layout. ... show more

  • Very accurate
Size: 200mm
I should've gotten something like this a long time ago. The lip on the edge make its more convenient and accurate as it stays aligned. I tested it for accuracy and can find no errors -- it is more than sufficient for woodworking. The only downside is that, as it's all aluminum, you shouldn't use marking or utility knives with it. ... show more

  • Great Quality and Accuracy
Size: 12 inch
It's hard to spend $90 on a square when you can get nearly 10 of them at that price from a home improvement store. This is absolutely worth it. I should have bought better measuring tools like this when I started woodworking. I would have saved myself a lot of frustration. The quality is good. I could see the numbers being hard to read if your eyesight isn't great. The pencil holes are fantastic for laying out screw or dowel holes, but they're not precise enough for joinery (use a marking gauge for that stuff). Of course, you could spend more on measuring tools (like the red ones)... but black looks cooler and I don't know if you'd actually gain anything. ... show more
