i made cutting boards out of these and they were absolutely beautiful. i've done it twice and one pack had more variety in color than the other, resulting in a more beautiful cutting board. but wood is unpredictable so I don't mind either way.

All in all, these boards are fine. They are straight and the look is perfect. A lot of the edges were not square. Luckily I have access to a jointer and a table saw so there was no problem. If you are trying to create a board without a table saw, then you would be out of luck. Besid squaring up the edges, the boards are perfect. I don't have a local hardwood dealer, so these are my best option. ... show more

I bought these in combination with some walnut to make some cutting boards for gifts. I dont have a jointer so the main reason I got these was because they claimed to be square on all sides. Not a single piece has a square edge. Looks like I'm gonna have to use my table saw. Boards are nice but no where near square. Very disappointed. My walnut still hasn't arrived but I doubt they will be square either coming from the same place. I was hoping for better but shipping took so long it will be too late to do anything else. ... show more

Firstly, two of the 10 boards that came were poplar and not maple. Five of the 10 ordered were ambrosia. One more had a cup. That makes 80% of the lumber unusable for what I ordered it for. The ambrosia maple, at least I can do something with that. But small pieces of poplar? What are you trying to pull? That’s scam level. ... show more

I can add a photo if needed later, but just received this wood and the quality is not good at all. Looks like I received half light walnut and half maple - the coloring is terrible. Pieces are marbled dark and light - it is advertised as cutting board ready wood. NOPE. I wouldn't use wood like this in a cutting board that is supposed to be maple - it would look terrible.
