  • Wood Pallet project book
great ideas for the seven pallets I have. Easy instructions and the illustrations are helpful.

  • Great Starter Book for Reusing, Repurposing and Recycling Pallets!
When I got this book earlier this week, I have to admit I was a tad bit disappointed because at first glance, it seemed sparse as to ideas, the number of projects and instructions. But as I delved further into the book, the more substance to it I saw. Chris Gleason covers this subject very thoroughly, from choosing the right kind of pallets to be used (there are certain pallets to be avoided, for those have been chemically treated and therefore not safe for use indoors; others are too splintery or full of nails to be safely worked with, etc.), to taking them apart for your projects, the tools to use, with an in-depth overview of what to use and what they're used for and so on. Furthermore, Mr. Gleason provides several projects in the book with detailed, concise step-by-step instructions and lists of materials needed for each project, such as a mirror frame, a coffee table, an outdoor loveseat, chair, and even an ukele! He also peppers the book with interesting factoids such as, "Old pallets can be ground up to make insulation, landscaping mulch, and construction materials", or "Due to sustainable logging practices, the number of newer trees each year exceeds the number of harvested trees". I also love the photos of various objects that were made with wood pallets, such as an accent ceiling, bed headboards, wall art and others that are creative and meant to inspire. And inspire they have... I am itching to get going on some of these projects, and so will you. This is a must-read if you're wanting to make things for your home and garden easily and very cheaply. ... show more

  • Pretty Good Info
Overall, there is good info in this book. Working with pallets requires a lot of 'sweat equity' and decent wood working skills. The author is an experienced wood worker so your first pallet projects will likely not turn-out as polished as his! :) Lots of great pictures and step-by-step instructions.

  • Not as expected
From the photos on the front of the book, you would think that the projects shown would be in the book.. Some of them are, but not all of them. The ones that I was most interested in were not. Just pictures inside with no instructions on how to assemble them. I'm not an idiot as far as trying to figure out how they were done, but I think it's a little missleading. ... show more

  • Totally Useless.
Are you kidding me with this book? Why not put things on the cover that you help someone learn how to build instead of things that other people built and have nothing to do with the book itself? Listen, folks, if you do not have the skill to figure out how to MAKE A BOX out of pallets, then you probably want to rethink trying to make things out of pallets. The fact of the matter is that is essentially all this book gives you - repeated directions on how to build a box....or a ukulele. The coffee table is a little more complicated, but that's it. Why not publish the directions for that Adirondack chair? I didn't want to download something off thw internet - I wanted to pay someone for their expertise, but thw internet it is! Save your cash for a different book. Skip this one. ... show more

  • Even A Guy Who Can't Drive In A Nail Straight Did This!
I saw this book in my local Lowes and found it much cheaper here! I had seen some examples of pallet furniture and wondered if a guy who can hardly drive a nail in straight could build anything in this book! Well I did and I plan to build more of the ones in it. Chris makes the instructions KISS for folks like me! ... show more
