I’ve purchased this a year ago, had good results, but noticed plants not drying out. Also, did not know how to let it expand at the time. I’d mix it, then use it right away. Decided to give it a go again, added water, let it sit, mixed it all up and let it sit again. Added a bit more water, let it sit, than stirred and let it sit. I made sure this time to premix the day before or at least a couple hours before I planned on transplanting. This made it expand a LOT, and I was able to pot a lot of plants in it. Doing it this way, I’m noticing it doesn’t retain water for too long, and I also add additional perlite and orchid bark. My plants are loving it, it’s the perfect balance of moisture with lots of aeration to the roots. ... show more

This product comes very dry. It's light and easy to put into your plant pots. I think the plays I've used it with like it. Just be aware that as it says on the bag, it swells up a lot. Allow plenty of room in your pot for this. Of coarse, that means you use a lot less. That's definitely a win. It's just good to plan for it ... show more

Great quality soil but a little pricier than what I’d get at my local nursery that’s comparable. It was hard to gauge how much I needed because it does expand considerably with water and I just wish I bought more. My plants do love it and it’s well draining though depending on your plant you may want to add some perlite to add to the drainage situation as I did attract some harmless but obnoxious fungus gnats to the party. My monstera is happy though so that’s all that matters. ... show more

Excellent product to use alone or add to your existing soil. I love that the most important nutrients, like the worm castings, perlite and coco coir are all in this mix and ready to create a healthy nutritional root life of your plants! After using this product I will be getting more of it. It makes gardening easier and lighter. Not storing so many huge bags of this and that and hoping to see a difference. This is certainly nice potting soil, just way overpriced. I mistakenly ordered a second bag and should have just returned it. I won’t order it again. Just buy some decent potting soil, buy a bag of perlite, a bag of worm castings, and perhaps some fish emulsion and mix it all up. Vastly more cost effective. I do a lot of container gardening so I use a lot of soil, and it can be difficult to handle all those big bags, so this soil sounded appealing. It does expand, but not that much. ... show more

So, this was my first time using this soil. I will make no complaints about it. The issues I experienced were because I'm dumb and not a great gardener. I changed soil to this and did follow the directions. Ended up splitting two bags between two pots. I added water and the product did what it was supposed to do. I eventually had to use a measuring spoon to scoop the dirt out. It ended up being enough dirt to fill 3 good size pots to the brim. Great product.
