Because of the strap you can use this for hiking or adventuring, or you can tuck the strap into the top of the hat and just wear it to make your outfit look more summery-chic! I ordered about 5 hats to try and this one won the test! It’s breathable because it has an open weave and it is thick enough to be durable but not too heavy or hot. Are there are a lot of small nuances that made this one the best quality of all the hats of the style that I tried. If you are on the fence about sizing, I would size up because it is not comfortable or attractive to wear a hat that is too tight!

I bought this hat to protect my scalp from the sun on a trip, but I did not realize until it arrived that it is not collapsible and therefore not easy to pack. I returned it for that reason. However, the quality was good, and it was packaged with several layers of protection for the brim. I would recommend it, just not for traveling lightly.

I highly suggest this hat. It’s perfect. It’s flexible enough to not get damaged when traveling or wearing it in different environments. I personally carried it on the plane as apposed to packing it. The strap helps the hat so it does not fly off when your on a boat or cruise ship. It held up very well for me in our 7 day cruise. Met another women with the same hat and she also loved it. I bought the L-XL. I’m a women with a not so small head and am happy I got the larger one.
