  • Wolf brand is the way to go
My husband started with a single Wolf watch winder, but when his watch collection got bigger he changed to a 4 watch winder in a different brand. He needed to upgrade again and we decided to go back to Wolf. This winder is beautiful, just like the photos show, and it is very quiet. Beautiful showcase display! ... show more

  • TRY THIS IF SOME OF THE WINDERS DONT APPEAR TO BE TURNING
I have several of these and they are tremendous winders. The first one had no issues. The second one had issues described by several reviewers regarding non turning winders. 4 of mine failed to work correctly. I was about to pack it up and send it back when I noticed that these same inoperative winder drums were protruding a little more than the operative ones. I placed the winder on its back on a covered hard surface (I used a thin towel). I removed all of the watch holders. Next, I rotated the loose drums around with a small bit of pressure, trying to find the proper engagement point, almost like they are keyed to a specific spot to keep them from slipping on the motor shaft. At that point, I gave them a quick, firm push using two fingers in the center of the drum at the bottom (not on the front edge). I herd a couple of audible clicks as if the winding drum renegades with the motor shaft. Everything works fine now Nd has been for weeks. Should you have to do that for an item of this caliber? Definitely not! However, some of them obviously get bumped around during shipping, in spite of the superior packaging. I’m fairly adept at fixing things and took a chance before I sent it back- it paid off. The manufacturer obviously needs to acknowledge this and make the -appropriate adjustments in their shipping process. 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to do the problem solving on this expensive item... ... show more

  • Solid, Quiet, Great Build, Quality Materials for the Most Part, in a League with More Expensive Products
My Wolf Roadster Six Piece Watch Winder has been in use now for just over a week, and it is working perfectly. My review will need to be updated as time goes by and after prolonged use. Like others, in the past, I purchased moderately priced winders that lasted about a year inevitably, no matter which of the modest brands I bought. This Wolf product is in an entirely different class. The build quality is really excellent, the company purports to be family-owned and European-based since 1934 (note, however, products are now made in China, instead of Europe), and comes with a two-year warranty. It was delivered with high quality packaging and protective materials. The winder's range is between 300 and 1200 TPD, and is single directional in each way (clockwise and counterclockwise), or if you choose, you can set it in bi-directional mode, which doubles the TPD amount. There is a back light to show settings as you make them, and status lights that flash green when all is well, or red, if there is something wrong that requires the machine to turn the motor off, like if you haven't inserted your watch correctly It's powered by AC/DC 3.3 volt output; not battery driven as are other Wolf winders. The motors are absolutely silent--they cannot be heard, so you can put it in a bedroom without any worries. If you need more capacity down the road, winding units can be daisy-chained. The Roadster is faced with real wood, but the whole thing is encased in pebble grained fake leather instead of real leather, which cheapens it somewhat. It doesn't come with a travel case, and there are no extra compartments to store watches or accessories unlike other Wolf models. All in all, I'm happy I saved for this not-inexpensive product, and I'm looking forward to many years of good service with it. But I'll update if product quality shows signs of too-early wear and tear. So far, I recommend it highly. ... show more

  • Easy to use, silent and attractive
I have a modest collection of automatic watches. Between them and my lovely solar-powered watches, I get to wear each watch only once every two weeks or so. I don't like the automatics to stop running. First, I think it's bad for machinery not to run for extended periods of time. Second, I like the watch to be close to correct time when I wear it. I used to accomplish this by winding each watch every night. I'm not convinced that's great for the watch -- I'm sure I'll be replacing some stem tubes sooner than later -- and it was tedious. I bought this Wolf 6-watch winder a month ago and it is so nice! It started with the packaging. The box was abused a bit during shipping, but the outer box was intended to be sacrificial. An inner box, suspended in closed-cell foam bumpers, was entirely undamaged. It felt a lot like a dark-universe version of an Apple unboxing, pulling the Roadster out of its packaging. The winder itself looks really nice. The striped ebony lends a really attractive appeal behind the glass door. And it's great to see my watches displayed there, whether they're spinning or waiting for the next cycle. There's not much point talking about the price. You can see it for yourself. But the workmanship is in line with it. As to the function, it's easy to use and so far seems dependable. It is dead silent. I'll check back in a year or two with a durability update. ... show more

  • Fantastic Packaging and looks.
I have just had this item a little less than a week and want to share my positive experience. First, I bought this item based on other Amazon reviews and must say that I was not disappointed. The packing alone is the best I have ever seen of any item. It is well packed, luxurious and if I did not know where it was manufactured, I would have said it was from some luxury German company, made and packed in Germany! If Wolf has paid that much attention to overseeing the packing, the product must certainly have the same kind of QC. I was able to get it going very quickly and it is has very simple, yet efficient, instructions. I own many different high end watches and was able to get them installed easily and so far everything seems to be working well. The Rolexes are keeping good time. I have them set at the 650 speed with rotations both ways. If my experience changes with longer use, I will post that as well. ... show more
