Easier than I anticipated. Six pound hammer with 18 inch handle was more than enough. Drove it in 75% with 3 pound hammer. Worth the price. Sturdy! I didn't need to pre drill holes on cedar posts.

I had several cedar fence posts that had rotted below the ground. As a result, a recent severe storm actually knocked over large sections of the fence. I was able to securely brace the posts up with these supports and what I repaired is amazingly sturdy. They are pretty difficult to pound all the way in due to the soil conditions in our area (clay and a lot of rocks), but I found that even with some of the support remaining above ground level, they are still very sturdy and do the job!

Love these. Tried something else previously because these were not going to fit (concrete in the way) but wished these would have worked. Completely supported my fence and very easy to put in if you have the strength to get them in the ground. Made sure to buy an extra to have on hand just in case!

I have two strong tie post savers along my side fence and they do an OK job but with high winds the fence will still sway. I stumbled across this design and decided to give it a shot. Supported the fence to be nice and even, dug a hole in front of the post and attached this to the post, filled the hole with quickrete and let it dry. So far this repair stake is doing the job brilliantly!! We've had some pretty bad winds and some bad storms and the fence doesn't budge HIGHLY recommend!!

Overall well made. How beefy? I used it on a railing post and it worked great. I don't know how well it would work on a 6 foot post. Seems like it would be a minimum size for a fence post where the wind is strong. The real issue is what kind of soil you place it in. The sandier the soil the less it's going to support. My soil is alluvial with lots of round rock and although it was a bear to get some of the bigger rocks out of the way the support did the trick after backfilling with soil and rock. In addition the screw holes are in a vertical line and should be offset to provide the greatest metal to wood strength.

Worked like a charm. Leveled it up and installed the unit. The whole job took about 20 minutes and my mailbox post is now level and secure. Love the fact that it’s brown in color. I highly recommend this product to solve the issue of a broken fence or mailbox post.

These are thick, rock solid pieces of metal. Not that easy to drive into the ground straight, so take care as you pound in. But once installed, they provide ample support for a post.
