    • Great Sound Bar - Lousy Mounting
This is a great sound bar, it looks great, has all the typical features and the sound quality is excellent for its use, and the projection of sound from the TV location is very good. The problem is, this sound bar is heavy for a sound bar, and this manufacturer, just like many other manufacturers, they seem to have forgotten that there will be times when people want to mount this sound bar either above or below their wall mounted or suspended television when they hang it on the wall or hang it down from a ceiling or wherever they plan to install it. To be honest this should be the default mounting method first and foremost, because if you think of it, any TV wall or suspended mount that articulates at all, be it UP-Down, Left-Right or tilting anywhere in between, you want the sound bar projecting its sound amplification in the same direction the TV is pointing. Before I purchased this, I searched high and low trying to find a sound bar that was designed by the manufacturer to be mounted from accessory hardware designed for that purpose. Most of the manufacturers do not go to the level of detail needed to show you its optional mounting capabilities. In this case, this sound bar is designed by the manufacturer to sit on a table or whatever surface that the TV would be sitting on. However, this manufacturer did include a set of silly little plastic brackets that mount to the back of the sound bar. I guess they presume these little plastic brackets are supposed to be sufficient to support this sound bar. I presume that this may be true (maybe) if this sound bar is mounted on a wall, and it is not intended to ever be moved. But even in that situation these little plastic brackets are very poorly designed, and they don’t seem to have the strength necessary to properly support this sound bar in a cantilever orientation. Having said that, if you intend to mount this sound bar from the provided little plastic brackets on any other TV mounting system, forget it, it's not going to hold up. Because of this design flaw, I was forced to drill and tap my own holes and provide the necessary screws in the bottom of the sound bar to align with the accessory soundbar mounting hardware that I had purchased for this purpose, while being careful not to drill through an area inside the sound bar that might hit the actual speakers or other wiring inside the sound bar. So basically, it required quite a bit of custom modification to provide the proper support on the accessory sound bar mount that I purchased. My application for this sound bar was a bit unique in that I mounted it below a 60” LED TV utilizing a separate soundbar accessory mount, and attached this assembly to a ceiling tilting mount so that the TV and sound bar can be tucked up and stored against the ceiling of our gazebo as a complete assembly. Hence the reason for needing a solid means and method to secure the sound bar to the TV, because it will be moved up and down often as needed. I should add that VISO used to make and sell a smaller sound bar, a series 2.0 that I have used on two of our other TVs that came designed to be mounted above or below a suspended TV, but apparently VISO discontinued that model and replaced it with a newer version which is probably a better sound bar then the previous version, but they completely eliminated the suspended mounting option? WHY? Had the new Visio sound version had the mounting option like the old version, I would have bought it without hesitation, I would have also bought the older version if it was still available.     • Nice Sound Bar, Bad Mounting Method....
This sound bar is really great for its sound and looks! The included way to wall mount it has a big problem though. After mounting this sound bar with the provided hardware, I found that after a few weeks to a month the weight of the sound bar and the poor design of the wall mounts has caused the back of the sound bar to develop cracks that start where the provided screws mount the brackets to the back of the sound bar thus causing a droop of the sound bar when mounted on the wall AND a noticable low end distortion. The cracks allow the sound bar case to vibrate and puff air out during bass operations. I've decided to ditch the provided mounts and put the sound bar on J-Style metal wall brackets. Also, I had to repair the cracks to stop the distortion sound. ... show more

This product arrived in perfect condition, and remarkably quickly. The price was great. It was very, very well made, packaging was terrific and I have no bone to pick with it at all, in that regard. It was super simple to set up using the optical cable on my new Insignia FireTV. Initially it worked (sound-wise) instantly and sounded incredible. But, I could not get the soundbar's remote to work properly at all. If synching with the TV was required, there was no documentation associated with that. Sometimes the volume up and down worked like it should and other times it would turn the TV completely off or swap out of whatever app I was watching to either another one all together or go to the TV's main menu on the FireTV. Also, after trying to go into my TV's settings and add the soundbar to it, it just got increasingly bizarre. This unit's name was not listed in the gigantic list of names provided to add to the TV's attached devices. So that was not possible. Then, the sound while watching HULU (my most used app) sounded like Evil Kneival had a microphone attached to his exhaust pipe and that was loudly overlaying and distorting the sound horribly. Yet, on other apps the sound was just fine. I gave up in disappointed disgust and boxed it back up, requested a refund and took it to UPS to be returned. I really wish it had worked. But, I have enough to deal with, without THAT. Proceed with caution. It could be my brand new Insignia (Best Buy) FireTV who is the culprit. Try getting help with that. It may work for you. The return policy with Amazon is truly amazing though, and gives you a lot of confidence that other retailers just do not. You may get lucky. I gave 3 stars because of the remote's craziness. I purchased on prime day by just going off of the reviews and to my surprise I actually picked a GREAT sound bar 💯 . It was very easy to set up, just "plug and play" You have to make sure you have a separate hdmi cable for just the sound bar and the TV. But it has amazing sound and clear voices. The bass sounds great from just the 3 presets it has on the remote. Also when I hooked it up I used just the hdmi cable into the hdmi arc connection. And then just had to go to settings on my TV and click external audio system. It automatically connected to my TV remote and my Roku and obviously the sound bar remote (you need your own 2 AAA batteries) I have a Phillips TV. When I was Looking for a sound bar that would work great for my TV I had no idea what to choose being on a budget but for my first one this sound bar is definitely worth the money!!! Easy to setup and use, and the sound is good, the only thing is that sometimes in arc mode it unexpectedly disconnect, I don't know if it's the way I set it up or not. It's not a problem though because I just select a different, then re-elect the arc mode
