  • Something extra
Format: Hardcover
True that this is not a 'how to' book for beginners. It is a very attractive and very readable list of tips for those who know something about beekeeping. My first bees will be arriving this weekend but I have already read many beekeeping books in preparation. This little book adds something more in extra knowledge that one would usually get only through experience or by knowing a talkative experienced beekeeper. The drawings throughout, similar to the one on the cover, are adorable. ... show more

Format: Hardcover
Great little hanbook for the day to day work of tending a successful beehive. I really like how the tips are divided into chapters, so that the reader can find answers more readily: How to Start beekeeping, Equipment, Colony management, Honey bee health, How to manage a hive throughout a changing year, Managing challenges such as swarming & hive splitting. My husband thumbs this book regularly. I really like the simple block print illustrations that divide each chapter. Thanks :) ... show more

  • Add this book to your exisiting collection
Format: Hardcover
A decent book to add to your collection for short reading interesting tips. This is by no means a first book or directions on beekeeping, but more like a coffee table, waiting room, or water closet book that can be picked up and put down in short intervals. There are no photos, just nice simple block style prints and text. The book is well organized with only a few repeated tips that fit in different categories. Would I buy it again? Yes, the price is right and I like collecting and reading bee books. Would I recommend it as a first, or early, book to learn about beekeeping? No I wouldn’t, buy one of the many great beginner books out there and add this one to your reading list for enjoyable winter reading next year. Four Stars because: I enjoyed the book and will likely pick it up numerous times in the many years to come. ... show more

  • Excellent Tips
Format: Hardcover
Not a lot of detail and definitely not the best book for beginning beekeepers, but it is faithful to the title. The author provides lots of useful tips, suggestions and reminders to help you be a better beekeeper.

  • Great book.
Format: Hardcover
Handy book full of little tips and advice. Not a full on text book on bee keeping but a good accessory to fill in some areas of question. This is a good book for any bee keeper of any skill level.
