This is the kind of book you’ll want to keep close by because you'll find yourself revisiting it again and again. That is, if you decide to build one after reading this book. I’m now convinced to buy one instead, but now I know exactly what to look for and how it all works. The book explains how to plan and build a greenhouse in a clear, approachable way. It doesn’t assume you’re an expert, which I appreciated. One interesting thing I learned: Jiffy pellets—those compact discs made of coir or peat moss—are perfect for seed starting. I had no idea! The book is packed with practical, hands-on tips like that. What stood out most to me was how accessible the writing is. It’s not overly technical, yet still full of useful, detailed information. The layout is clean and easy to follow, which makes the whole process feel much less intimidating, even for a complete beginner. That said, I did find myself wanting more general gardening tips, not just greenhouse-specific advice. I bought this book because I already have a greenhouse and expected information about actually gardening in it. But I was disappointed because more than half the book was about building or buying greenhouses (and to boot, it didn’t really offer any plans for building one, just examples) even though it states that on the cover. Out of 23 chapters, only 8 were devoted to actual gardening. The book should have been titled, “Greenhouses and a Few Tips About Gardening”. I felt deceived by the title and I don’t recommend it for anyone looking for extensive information on greenhouse gardening. ... show more
