Initially, it looked gimmicky to me, like something that a young girl would like, glittery and all, but I was intrigued enough about the Ph reaction to try it, and the product proofed me wrong! First, it just looks full of glitter, but when it goes onto your lips, all it has is a pleasant light reflecting shimmer that gives the illusion of fuller lips. I was somewhat apprehensive about the kind of pink it would turn into on my lips. The product creates a very customized, one of a kind color according to your body chemistry. Luckily, it was not a Barbie or bubblegum pink, but for me like a beautiful rose with some mauve undertones. This acts like a moisturizing lip balm, not a lipstick, stain or lip oil. Lipstick creates a layer of color on top of your lips. When you put on lipstick, well, you look like you put on lipstick. Lip stains sink into your lips, but are usually drying and too darkly pigmented. Oils are sticky and messy. Back to lip balms. This one is special because you get a chemical reaction, not something that sits on top or sinks in, but something that actually turns your lips a rose or pink color as if you have been born with it. If you like a natural look like me where less is more and make-up is only used sparingly to enhance natural beauty, then this product is for you! As to color transfer, it is simple, give this product about 20 minutes to sink in, and it no longer transfers. Try putting on a lip balm. Initially, it sits on top of your lips until it is absorbed by your skin. Once you feel like the product has sunk in, it no longer transfers the color. Folks are right though about having to re-apply it periodically. The chemical reaction will have to be renewed every so often. I am sold on this. Let me start by saying that I HATE the feel of lipsticks and stains. I’ve even tried oils which are better, but still not my thing! Anyway, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff! It subtly adds color and shine to my lips. They feel moisturized like a lip balm, but with the addition of that color and shine. My daughter tried it too. She loved it. I bought her one. My sister and niece tried and loved it too. I ordered 2 more. I’ve bought 4 this week! Try them! They are fun! ... show more

This lipstick DID change color upon application. Just about the right shade to look "natural". Was disappointed that it does come off with a bit of color (on a napkin), but definitely not as bad as regular lipstick. Color stayed on well. Was not moisturizing...

I love this. I had seen the Winky Lux products in stores but I never bought any because honestly, I just thought they were too expensive. I do think this was a little expensive, but I would buy it again, either for myself, or as gifts. It creates a lovely, medium shade of pink customized to your skin tone. It stays on for several hours and gives light moisturization. Today, I topped it with a light pink gloss and it was so pretty. It also stayed on at least two hours longer. This would make a very nice gift for almost anyone in your life who likes lipstick. It feels luxurious and the pH-balanced formula makes it seem more personal than some gifts, I think. I will probably never be that person who wakes up in enough time to put on a full face of make up for work, but as a late-30s female battling adult acne, I don’t like how my skin looks. My compromise is tinted moisturizer and mascara, but I also wanted something for my lips that wasn’t lipstick or lip gloss. A Prime Day article suggested this tinted lip balm by Winky Lux. They recommended Unicorn but I liked the way Rose looked better. Got it today and it did not disappoint! It’s subtle, moisturizing, and their selling point is that it shades to your pH! A bit pricey but you get what you pay for in the tube design, glittery and delicately scented balm, and the color changing feature is way fun. Had to order one in rose for myself. Ahem. The Winky Lyz Lip Balm is great because it fantastically moisturizes your lips. The colors are great, but the only issue is that they are small and expensive. It is high-quality lipstick.
