I watched several videos before taking down 11 vinyl shutters off my house to repaint them, and saw that most homeowners have most (if not all) of the existing shutter pegs break off when they take down their shutters. My house is 15 years old, and the old pegs were brittle. Trying to pry them out of the holes they are "tapped" into just broke them (or cracked the shutters!) Found it easier to whack each peg with a chisel and hammer, breaking it cleanly at the siding, then drill out the old peg for the new one to go in. Important to drill at 1/4" hole that's deep enough for the new peg, and really clean it out with the drill bit. Otherwise, you'll find the new peg goes in most of the way but not all the way. Then you might break it trying to get it out (they really grab well!) Buy some extras and you won't regret it. (I bent or broke 6 of these out of 44 needed, but I had ordered extra to be safe. They look great and these match the shutters perfectly. So much nicer than seeing screw heads which might rust later. ... show more

If you need a larger number of them this is the best deal out there. 4 stars because it isn't perfect, they have a funny idea of what burgundy color actually is. These are more brown, need more red in the coloring mix to get burgundy.

It was time to paint our shutters a different color and I couldn't find the lock pins anywhere that I was going to need to re-hang them when they were ready. A friend told me to look on Amazon....."they have everything". Well, I'm glad that I did because I found just what I needed. They work great. I would recommend these pins to anyone that is going to be hanging shutters. I got them within a few days of ordering them and I am very satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

Color of new plastic screws would have matched our previous faded color on the shutters. But of course we re-repainted the 17 year aged shutters a leather brown color. My husband came up with the idea for me to use seedling plug trays from our greenhouse, it worked perfect.

Very nice push pins but my biggest complaint is that you can not paint the heads to match the exact color. But it is a very close match
