    • Difficult to assemble but decent value for money

The packaging keeps the desk well protected during shipping unlike another desk I ordered from Amazon, and I was happy that it arrived without damage. However, the desk was difficult to assemble since some holes don't align well and we have to pull/push to make the hole align. We also didn't screw the screws all the way in first to make it a little room for other holes to align, I hope this tip would help if anyone is having issue putting this together. If you have trouble putting the hexagon bar in both side, you can use the crank handle which is the same size as the hexagon bar to turn and adjusted the position so both holes align the same way for the hexagon bar. The overall quality of the desk is nice and definitely worth the price of $120 (after coupon) compared to other standing desks of similar size and color. The only thing to note is that the desk table top is put together with 2 parts so there is a visible line in the middle, it doesn't bother me much but I didn't know until it arrived and I opened the box. It doesn't show in the images of the product listing but it does show in the video. The manual crank is a little slow but it isn't bad. Additionally, the wheels are also helpful if you need to move the desk since it is heavy. ... show more

Ordered the 48-inch maple top with white legs. This arrived on time, however the left edge of the box was ripped to where I can see one of the pieces of wood exposed before even opening the box. Luckily nothing was damaged inside, but the top wooden board could use one more layer of padding/styrofoam for protection. Assembly instructions were found at the bottom of the styrofoam & very easy to understand. I had help from a very nice neighbor who came over to put this together in under an hour. He's always been very friendly & generous in offering to help -- like relocating spiders away from our porch, cleaning out half his fridge so I can put my food in there when my fridge broke. We talk about our cats every time we see each other, so when he said he was pretty good at furniture assembly I took him up on his offer. However, seeing him this time when he came over he must've been working out over the summer. Holy moly. He was wearing a tight army green t-shirt & jeans & I couldn't help to notice his bulging biceps & all his tattoos on his arms over his dark olive skin. He also came straight from the gym too so that might have something to do with it. I never thought this shy, gentle & sensitive guy who has 2 adorable cats would be such a hunk & he lives right next door! I just never saw them that way. This totally caught me off guard & I didn't even know what to say my brain went completely blank. I felt like Cher in Clueless when she finally realizes she likes Josh! Normally I'd just jabber on & on talking non-stop but I literally could not put 2 words together to form a sentence I was the shy one this time! But I kept my cool, told my brain to calm down & just let him do all the talking lol... Hopefully he didn't notice I was being quieter than usual... (Cue music: Taylor Swift's "This Love") & before you know it, he was all done putting the desk together. It was beautiful. We tested the sit-stand feature right away, everything worked smoothly. When he left I still couldn't really put words together to form anything coherent so I just gave him a big hug at the door. Then he gave me the biggest smile I've ever seen him give. (Taylor Swift's "This Love" swells as we wave goodbye & wish each other well.) Some of the earlier reviews mentioned the top being in one wooden piece, mine came in two pieces so that has changed but I don't mind it at all. Desk fits two huge desktop monitors, work laptop, & my personal macbook with enough space for keyboard, mouse, beverage, notebooks, etc. The quality of the legs, wooden top, hex bar sit-stand feature, removable crank is worth it for this price point. I'm petite so it takes me about 60 rotations to get from sit to stand, but it doesn't take that long & moves very smoothly with little resistance, no noise or squeaking so far after one month of use. I purchased this when it was on sale as a lightning deal. I've had my eye on standing desk for a while and felt uncomfortable purchasing a electric one, especially if it got stuck or failed over time. The instructions were clear and assembly took under an hour, however, I did get stuck with the hexagon bar as other users have stated. For some, when you first insert one side of the bar into the leg hole, it's not perfectly aligned with the other side. You can first start by propping the table up so it's perpendicular to the floor, so if you're in a sitting position, you're looking directly at the bottom of the table across from you. Pick up the bar and put both plastic gaskets on and slide them in towards the center. Insert one side of the bar into a leg hole and push it in. If you discover the opposite side won't take because it's not aligned (the shape imprint to the hexagon bar), use the hand crank while the bar is still inserted to turn it slightly and try again until it 'matches' up. Once you have the bar fully in and centered, make sure the tiny holes for the metal latches are visible before the leg holes. Push both gaskets to the very end of each side and then push the latches in to secure it. ... show more

Pros: It was sort of easy to set up, I am a girl and set it up by myself without a problem, the only hard part is carrying everything. It is larger than a lot of the other desks I've seen and has a lot of space It is probably the cheapest standing desk I found that doesn't look like absolute trash It reaches a very good height (I'm 5 6 and don't doubt that it'll work for taller people) Cons: The wood piece is split in 2, which wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't a gap visible between both pieces It's not very pretty, you can see the rod going through the middle when it's at standing height and it looks very industrial, not that great for in house It's sturdy enough for my laptop and books, I wouldn't trust it with heavy heavy things ... show more
