I tested the case for water resistance with a paper towel (as per instructions) and it worked fine. No water made it into the case. However, I wasn't able to actually use the case with my phone when on vacation because no matter what I tried, the shutter button wouldn't turn on and connect to my phone making it essentially unusable for anything orher than wayer resistance. I even changed the battery. I'm very disappointed because the only reason I got this was to take photos while snorkeling. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I had soooo much fun with this. It did great. Of course the touch screen was pretty useless once in the case, but honestly it didn’t need to be messed with once set. So so much fun to snorkel around and video everything. I have so many. Just be careful to get ALL the sand out when cleaning it, grains can compromise the seal. I had no leak issues. ... show more

After reading reviews, I had low expectations but I've found this to be awesome so far. I'm using this with a new Samsung S23 Ultra. Definitely surprised! I didn't expect to be able to toggle back and forth between the video and camera. That works great. I didn't think I could zoom in and out. That also works. I didn't think I would be able to toggle between the front and back camera for selfies and that works too! I'm pretty sure you can't do all of that unless you use the Shellbox camera app but that's fine by me. I've tested it for water seal in my pool and no leaks. I did have one problem. When I shut the app down and disconnected the Bluetooth then turn everything back on and reconnect, all of the buttons work accept for the zoom in and out buttons. It took me a minute but I found that if I go into my Bluetooth settings and "forget" the connection and then rediscover it, all the buttons work again. I guess I can work with that considering I just have to do it once before getting in the water. All in all pretty happy! ... show more

The case is great. It is waterproof, the case works with Bluetooth. However, you cannot use the touchscreen, you need to keep the camera open the entire time it is in use. If it closes you will need to unscrew the entire case and start over. My main and most serious complaint is the screws. My first time trying to remove the screws with the screwdriver provided completely shredded the screws. I can’t remove the battery to replace it, and as stated you need the Bluetooth to use the case in any sort of way. Meaning it is now a useless brick. If you intend on using this 1-2 times, great. I have been looking for a waterproof case to use for snorkeling with an iPhone 12 Pro. After reading many product descriptions and reviews, it seemed that a $50 touch screen case was not a good idea. This Third Generation "Professional" case, for about $90, is a good idea because it uses a bluetooth connection to control the smartphone functions. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. 1. The case was designed to accommodate a variety of phone sizes, which I totally understand. The suction cups did not hold my iPhone in place; it slowly slipped down. A simple solution would be to include several pieces of dense foam in different sizes that could be placed to hold the phone from slipping (some other cases have this). 2. The instructions tell me to use the QR code to download the app - the link does not work (server not found) - or download BT Shutter from the App Store. There are 2 apps named "BT Shutter" on the app store. I tried both of them. They both connected to my iPhone, but did not function the way the case instructions and buttons should. Both apps are old (a few years) and have not been updated for newer phones. The second day I tried the apps, neither would connect to my phone. I gave up. 3. The package included an extra battery, a small screw driver, and a few extra tiny screws - thank you, a very good idea. There is no mention in the instructions about these parts or how to change the battery. In fact, I didn't know if the case came with a battery installed (turns out it did), or I had to install it. 4. The part of the case that has the control buttons can be removed from the case; it's held in place by a magnet. It can therefore be used as a remote away from the case. The instructions say nothing about this. 5. I did not test the case in water - I returned it. However, the waterproofing relies on one O-ring. From experience, I know that an O-ring should be cleaned and greased (O-ring silicon grease) before every use; this is not mentioned in the instructions, and no O-ring grease is supplied. 6. The case is branded Shellbox. The Shellbox website has zero information about this case. The box has a different company name. The apps are developed by people or companies that can't be found, and no privacy information is provided to Apple App Store by the developers. This is an issue with products from China or other countries where the products could go through a few different companies before being marketed. I understand, and appreciate, globalization, but many companies putting things on the market need to up their game. 7. Thank you Amazon for letting me return this item and get a refund. I'm actually a bit sad to give this product a 1-star rating because I think it is a great idea, seems like an acceptable quality build (but I did not use it to be certain), and I wish it actually worked. ... show more

So happy I went with this case because it had a Bluetooth controller in it that could take photos, videos, zoom and switch from front and back cameras with their app. It was a nice touch that they included an extra battery for the remote. Just make sure ahead of time that it fits your phone. It fit my iPhone 8 Plus fine once I took its regular case off. I suggest you buy a floating wrist strap separately for any cases like this in case you drop it. I got some great photos like this sea turtle on the sunny days when the water was calm. ... show more
