The buttons are decorative, not functional. These white color shirt washes quick and easy, and we used stain solution on some dark stains and they came out quick and easy and the white looks as good as the day it arrived, so we are thrilled with the pattern and ease of care. These white color shirt is comfortable to wear, and soft enough napping in it is pleasant to the point it is easy to forget your wearing a T-shirt with buttons. We used the sizing info in the listing and got a nice fit, loose enough to feel free and flowing, but not like we should have bought a size smaller. Nice basic top...little sleeves are perfect for us older ladies. The fabric is soft and substantial ( esp for the price!) . Drapy, not form-fitting, long enough to provide soms coverage...and that really pretty neckline! Scoop-neck tops are not easy to find. Lots of crew necks, round and V-necks out there in shirts, blouses and sweaters, but an open SCOOP neck, which looks particularly good under a cardigan or jacket, is tougher to find. I ordered another in a print that will look great under a variety of toppers. I am 5'4", 150 lbs and i think i COULD have gotten away w a MEDIUM, but happier with a large....jusf a bit more room. ... show more

    • Super flattering neckline, might consider sizing up if you need more give in the waist.

The cut is so flattering in the neckline and shoulders. Unfortunately it's a little snug in the waist, so I sized up, but then it was too big in the chest. I wish the white were slightly more opaque, but it's still a nice weight and isn't so see-through that you need something under it. (If you size up it is better in that regard). ... show more
