First of all my rating scale 3 is good product as expected. 4 or 5 have something really special 1 or 2 defective in dome way So why does this rate higher than expected. Pros: very nice finish, really it well packaged suitable for gift right out of packing box. Right size really makes a mice presentation with rice and a little fututaki sprinkled on top. Good for small portion of desert. Been using in microwave to reheat seems safe. I ended up doing an exchange because the set I got the first time around had a lot of obvious flaws. Areas where the print was smudged, a few chips on the very underside of the bowl, etc. Also of note, the pretty package for the first one was ripped up. If you are sending as a gift it is possible it may look a bit haggard upon arrival. That said, the exchange was much better quality! Package was intact.
