Extremely durable for the cheap price!

After surgery on my right hand, it was impossible for me to continue to carry groceries from the car to my condo. I realized it was time for me to have a cart. The Whitmor cart is very sturdily constructed and has a large capacity. Most importantly for my needs, there is enough room at the bottom of the cart for two large grocery bags and a gallon container of milk, with none of them stacked on top of each other. Tomatoes and bananas don't get crushed! When folded, it takes up a lot of room in my car's trunk, but it's there when I get home from the store with my purchases and makes it easy to move them from the car to the condo. (The parking lot in this condo complex is not close to my unit.) The cart is also handy for transporting large garbage bags to the dumpster in the parking lot. Although my hand has healed enough that I could carry grocery bags again, the cart makes it much easier to carry everything in one trip. The cart is probably easier to assemble for anyone with better skills than mine, but I did manage to do it without assistance.

This cart is wonderful, I have had it over a year, use it at least once a week, and have had no problems. I don't go up any steps, but my walk includes high curbs, grass and gravel, which it handles with no problem. I do need to tip it back and use only the back wheels for grass and gravel. That is my only complaint on this great cart, the front wheels do not pivot or spin, so not good with bumps and such, that is all I would change. The cart is sturdy, I am not sure what weight limit they recommend, but I have carried some good weight in it, an example would be, an 18lb bag of dog food, 3-12 packs of soda, laundry detergent, gallon of milk and other groceries, with no problem and nothing happening to the cart. Well, it did squeak a little, but who wouldn't with that weight. It is a good size, the 18lb bag of dog food fit flat on the bottom, that may help you with visualizing. I use the reusable grocery bags and fit 4 in it( I guess that may vary by size of bags you use) depending on how full the bags are it does sometimes go over the top of basket. I just tie the bag handles together so nothing falls out if I have to tip the cart over bumps. I recommend getting the cloth liner, it helps keep the cold things cold and the one I bought has a flap that goes over top, which helps with that and peace of mind that nothing will fall out. 9/11/20- I just wanted to update, my cart is still going strong, I have had no problems. I don't use it as often, but still a couple times a month and it still carry lots of weight with no problem. The only thing I would change on it is the wheels, swivel wheels would make much easier to turn. But once you get the hang of it turning gets easier. 2\27\23- Another update, cart is still going strong. I use it once a week ,still loading it up and she's still going strong!! A good quality item,worth a purchase.

Assembly wasn't complicated, just a couple of tools needed. I've used this cart for the most part on flat, smooth surfaced, indoor settings. I've never loaded it past the weight limit, but have transported items up to 70lbs in the cart. No problems. (If you plan to load the cart with very heavy items on a regular basis, you should place a piece of plywood or a stiff cutting board into the bottom of the cart. This will prevent any "bowing" of the carts bottom frame.) The handle height seems to be just right for a person of average size. The cart does take a little getting used to when it comes to maneuvering since the front wheels do not swivel. (I decided to go with fixed wheels instead of swiveling models. The more moving parts there are, the more issues you'll have). Now if you intend to take this cart on the road, sidewalk or rough pavement, the durability of the wheels might become an issue over time.

So I am someone who has to walk a block from their parked car to their apartment. Carrying 8 bags of groceries one block is tiring even for a young person! I started to hate going grocery shopping every week due to carrying so many bags. It may not seem like a big deal but it just started to get to me. I finally made the decision to find a solution and the solution was this cart! For the price it was well worth it! Putting together the cart was not easy for me. The pins kept falling out making the wheels come off. Maybe others found it easier but I struggled. I am so thankful for this cart! I no longer struggle with bags of groceries and I love shopping! I never knew something like this could change your whole perspective on something you didn’t enjoy! Moving the cart around isn’t as easy as I thought. If you are going in a straight line then there are no issues. I found that putting the cart on its back wheels in a wheelie style helped with maneuvering! Overall I am VERY pleased with this cart! It does what it says and is easy to store! If you’re having issues with laundry or groceries then this is the cart for you!!!!
