I bought this shoe in March 2023 and started hiking 10 miles per week with a 50 pound vest on forest trails. In addition, it was my daily casual shoe. The following items recount my experience. Further below I will note differences between last year's shoe and the new one. At first I was extremely pleased with the comfort! The flat rubber soles really let you fell the ground below. The forest trails are rough, with stones and twigs. Even walking on flat asphalt I noticed a profoundly different foot sensations. Even when I step on the brake pedal in the truck I can actually feel the pedal response. When I do that with work boots I can't feel the pedal at all and just rely on the speed response. Second, the wide toe box allows the toes to spread apart, especially when walking the forest trail. My feet conform to the trail rather than the shoe. I get a sense of better grip when walking as well as a heightened sense of control. Third, the shoes never fell apart until after a year's use, when I downgraded them to work shoes and really beat them up. Based on my experience with Allstar shoes I expected the Whiten shoe to eventually die from sole separation. That never happened. The canvass remained firmly glued to the sole - no crumbling or separation like the Allstars. It was only after 3 months of abuse that the canvass started wearing through, as shown in the photo. Fourth, these Whiten shoes have metal eyelets. I see a lot of other shoes with molded-in eyelets that fail by pulling out. I like the full metal eyelets because I pull on the laces really hard. The original laces when the entire distance. The new shoe has all the same fit and feel. The only difference is that the old shoe upper is canvass, whereas the new shoe appears to be a synthetic material. Same styling and real rubber soles. I'm back on the trail and will report next year as to the wear experience.

This is definitely an amazing shoe for deadlift or squats. Large toe box allows your toes to spread out in a natural form, flat/no drop design is perfect for heavy lifts, and rubber sole is soft, flexible, and extra grippy on deadlift/squat rack. Highly recommend if you are looking for an inexpensive weightlifting shoe that provides comfort and a breathable design. Have been using about a year at the gym 2-3x a month and has been very durable.

I actually have three pairs: black, brown and these gray. I love the shoe for shorter trips around town and are mostly comfortable. The room in the toe box is phenomenal! My toes never feel jammed together. The soles, however, are not as great. After 5-6 hours, my feet start to complain with the lack of cushion in the bottom. Theme park shoes, definitely not. Running errands, yes. Mostly sitting at a computer with the occasional walk about the office, yes. With that said, durability has not been an issue for me, all three pairs still look great and I’ve had two of the three pairs for about two years now.

These shoes fit like a glove. And I'm hard to fit (two different size feet). I wanted a generic pair of shoes for work. What I got were two clouds that make me feel like I'm floating on air! These shoes are amazing! Non-slip, good grip, durable, they almost massage my feet when I'm walking. Excellent find!

In the past, I always prioritized name-brand, expensive shoes that looked good, without giving much thought to their impact on my foot health. However, after a recommendation, I decided to try the WHITIN Men's Minimalist Cross-training Shoes. Not only were they significantly more affordable compared to other wide-toe barefoot shoes, but they also exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and functionality. Although these trail runner shoes weren’t ideal for my current work environment, they quickly became my go-to for casual wear. The wide toe box and minimalist design have made a noticeable difference in my overall foot comfort. I rarely write reviews but these shoes deserve a good one. I’m always a bit leery of snagging random shoes on Amazon, have been burned a few times but took a chance on these. Super glad I did! Awesome fit (I tend to wear a 10.5 wide, got an 11), the opening has a great stretch to it and the cushioning inside feels sooooo good. The treat is light but grips well (good boat shoe). Absolutely love these things and am buying most other colors.

A cut started to form on the heel 9-10 months in, which has now nearly opened a hole in the bottom of the shoe. They're alright in that they were a good pilot for switching to barefoot shoes, but as they say, buy nice or buy twice. Next time, I'm going for a better brand.
