I require a 12.5 shoe size. My right foot is a 12.5 shoe size and my left foot is a 12. 12 is too small and 13 too large. Most shoe companies do to provide the 12.5 shoe size. Whitin shoes are comfortable, affordable, and THEY FIT! A comparable shoe a the local store is $120 !! Thanks, Whitin!

For reference, I generally wear 10-10.5 2E-4E shoes (US sizing) depending on the brand. I bought the WHITIN wide trail runners in sizes 10 wide (43) and 11 wide (44). I also bought the similar looking barefoot ASTVO shoes in size 10 wide (43.5) and 10.5 wide (44). Hopefully this review helps people who want to see how these two shoes compare as they both cost around $42 when I bought them. For the comparison below, I used the barefoot insoles in the ASITVO although they include spare supportive insoles that are about 1/8" thicker than the barefoot insoles. If used, these would slightly reduce the volume, add cushion, and help people adapt to barefoot shoes. Sizing/Length: The ASITVO shoes have a fairly true-to size length, perhaps a quarter size short but this is a non-issue common in barefoot shoes as you don't need as much length with your toes less crowded. WHITIN seems to run about a size small in length, the 11 WHITIN shoes were similar in length to the 10 ASITVO shoes while the 10 WHITIN shoes fit more like a US 9 in length. Overall Width and Volume: The ASITVO is very wide and good for higher volume feet, slightly wider throughout compared to the WHITIN and while both have good volume, the ASITVO has slightly more. The ASITVO 10 wide was wide enough in the midfoot for my 3E width, high-volume feet, while both sizes of the WHITIN shoes were too narrow in the midfoot. Toebox width: The toebox in the ASITIVO shoes is slightly wider than the WHITIN. The 10.5 wide ASITVO might even be slightly wider than the 11 wide WHITIN toebox. For reference, I find with barefoot style shoes where the midfoot fits well, the toebox generally has enough room for me. The WHITIN has a tighter midfoot which may be preferable to some. Midfoot Width: The ASITVO has a wider midfoot compared to the WHITIN wide barefoot shoes, it seems to get wide about 5.5 inches from the toe while the WHITIN gets wider about 4.75-5 inches from the toe and is narrower in the midfoot and heel. I found the ASITVO 10 wide was wide enough in the midfoot for my 2-3E width, high-volume feet, while both sizes of the WHITIN shoes were too narrow in the midfoot. The extra half inch before the shoes widen caused uncomfortable pressure on the inside of my foot. This is a common issue I run into, so I prefer the ASITVO shoes but those with more triangular feet or a narrower heel/midfoot would likely prefer the WHITIN fit. Heel fit: They are both similar, perhaps slightly wider on the ASITVO although neither shoe has an excessively wide heel. Compared to the WHITIN, they have more padding that is well designed around the heel and ankle. This holds my heel in place better and the padding helps avoid overtightening and pressure points. Overall: The ASITVO has a wide, high-volume fit with a generous toebox. The 10 Wide ASITVO is exactly what I wanted, and is wide enough in the midfoot to fit correctly without sizing up. It also has plenty of volume. I would hesitate to call the WHITIN shoes wide except for the toebox. To me they fit more like Altra Lone Peak 8-9's and some of the Topo trail shoes where the toebox is wide but the midfoot is too narrow. They do have more foot volume than the Altras I have tried on though. TLDR: Overall, the 10.5 wide ASITVO fits closer to how the 11 wide WHITIN shoes fit for toebox size and length but has a wider midfoot than the WHITIN. The WHITIN seems to run a size small and the midfoot widens too far up the shoe for me in the larger size I tried while it is too short and narrow in the smaller size. ... show more

I purchased these shoes for a particular reason that would be of interest to Senior Citizens - The nerve connection between the brain and the skin are weaker after age 60 and I am 81 years old. The Shoes are great - but for me - the tongue needs to be longer and the flaps need to be longer, with metal islets for the shoe strings. As of now I can use them indoors ( to increase skin contact with the floor) but not outside without the shoe strings, which I had to take out - because the tongue was cutting off circulation to my foot, because I wear orthotics and it changes the shape of the shoe. you could put in 2 rows of shoe string islets -that would allow room for orthotics - So younger people and Senior Citizens could both use this shoe which I like very much for their lightness, barefoot feeling. This shoe runs small - I wear an 11.5 U.S. and they fit me at European 45 which is what I ordered, and was sent. All Good - If the maker of these shoes changes or offers the shoe in the specifications I mentioned, then, I will buy them and be able to use them on my daily exercise walk in the morning. ... show more

    • good shoe overall but toe box is narrow for a barefoot shoe

this was going to be my first shoe to transition from conventional shoes to barefoot shoes. they are comfortable and well constructed and fit well, but unfortunately the toe box is too narrow. letting my feet rest , they feel roomy enough but when i try to spread my toes inside of them there isn't enough room for it, and they are too tight to wear toe spacers. because of this i know that eventually as my toes splay out more over time, these shoes are going to limit that and hold them back the same way normal shoes do. i got a pair of hobibear running shoes to try instead, and despite the insoles in both being almost exactly the same shape and size, with the hobibear insole being only a couple mm wider, there is a world of difference between them. with the hobibear shoes i can not only splay my toes in them but i can also wear toe spacers. today i worked a 7 hour shift at my job while wearing them with toe spacers and they were comfortable enough that i didn't have to remove them. so in conclusion i will say if you don't care about the toe spread thing and you just want them for their good construction and zero drop sole, they should work fine. everyones feet are different though so if you have a narrower toe area of your feet then you may find them plenty roomy. ... show more

The shoe is comfortable, fits similar to a sock, the ground is more textured but not overwhelming like some may expect from a shoe like this. The thickness of the sole insert and the rubber itself is just right and as your feet adjust and your toes widen the shoe develops with it. As the shoe wears down your feet are naturally adapting and feeling more and more of the ground to the extent that some may hardly notice the shoes were developing holes. I discovered this not because of feeling them but because I was checking my pressure placement on the sole and found similar hole development on both shoes. This shoe almost lasted a full year of kitchen service. I've worked in three restaurants in these shoes and while they're technically not slip resistant, nor do they really advertise these as such, I find that they are relatively good at not slipping and sliding around. Even when I had a layer of oil on them I wasn't exactly slipping around and almost falling, at most I was gliding across the floor. All of this to say that the traction even in particular situations hold up well. Now I have fallen only about 3 times and each time I was rushing so truly no fault of the shoes and I was only questioned once if they were non slip to which I replied " well they're trail running shoes, I just have oil on my feet", which was true, fryer oil gets everywhere. The water resistance this shoe has is also outstanding, the amount of times my socks should have been soaked in mop water but weren't is astonishing, as for the rain it is hardly an issue. I have ZERO issues with these shoes and will be purchasing more pairs and varieties in the future. My only desire with the brand is a wider toe box for those that stretch and develop or those that aspire to stretch and develop their feet to a more anatomically correct structure. ... show more

    • Does what it says. Good for foot health

I wore these for about 3 to 4 months and probably put 800,000 + steps on these. The tread was wore down in the middle of the shoe due to my personal foot strike on the ground but the rest of the shoe tread was still in good shape. The toe spread is nice (can even wear toe spacers while wearing the shoes if you are working on that, I got the ones squat university recommends on here). The one thing I'll say about these shoes is the padding is very thin so if you plan to walk a lot or run you might consider the running shoe version of this brand. You will feel every bit of debris you step on due to the thin pad and it can be painful. Not to deter from the actual shoe though as it performed great. I bought these to feel more ergonomic and this was my first time trying a zero drop wide toe. I ended up wearing these full time and ditching my work shoes and casual shoes as the black was work acceptable. Great shoe, light weight, good for work, and nice design. My toes felt great in these and it truly is a zero drop as it says. Not waterproof and the shoe didn't have a lot grip if I stepped on something slick on concrete though most shoes would slip anyway. Not that it happened that much anyway. Decent shoe and I have just bought the runner shoe version and it already feels better with the extra padding. Also if you are a person who likes to slip the shoe on and off without tieing and untieing these did not work well with that and the back of the shoe where the ankle touches would often fold down and got worse as I kept doing it...shocking I know.
