I thought it was soft. I was happy that when I opened it, I did not notice any weird odors or anything like that from the packaging or vacuum pack process. Overall, it seems nice. This duvet insert has all the right qualities of a well made down comforter. It has baffle boxing for starters, which keeps the down from bunching, and evenly distributed. It washes well, didn't give off any harsh odors, and the stitching is done beautifully. The edging is done in gold, and adds a bit of elegance. You could use this on its own, or in combination with a duvet. The loops for the buttons on a duvet are done nicely, and will work well. This is a surprisingly nice down comforter, and I honestly could see using this year round. It may be a little too warm in summer, but definitely warm enough in winter months.

After unpacking the comforter, I laid it on the bed for two days. I lightly shook and patted it. It fluffed up nicely. On the third day I took photos. The comforter is well-made. I especially like the braided gold edge. It gives the comforter an extra touch of class. The waffles are not overstuffed. It feels like a good medium weight comforter. The outside is made of soft cotton. Inside is a mixture of 25% goose down and feathers without stems. I didn’t notice any stems or feathers poking out of the fabric. I liked the comfortable warmness of the comforter. I’m very pleased with this.

Doesn't have a weird smell coming out of the box, the material is soft, and the stitching is done well. I put it through the washer and dryer without ruining it. The down is evenly distributed but there isn't as much filler as the photo shows. It's thinner but will still keep you warm.

This comforter with goose down is great because it’s not over stuffed !! When they are they are hard to move under, hard to move around and hard to make bed in morning . They are too hot when overstuffed . This one is lighter than what I had and once in protector then in duvet cover it will make a nice nights sleep. I like the gold trim . Very Happy Enjoy
