Just received these, haven't had a chance to field test but was able to simulate (see pic). My feet are narrow 12s. The XL fits fine, not sloppy but enough room to wiggle. They aren't the easiest to put on but they stay in place & make waders slide on easily as advertised. Probably easier to slide onto bare feet. My waders have latex stocking feet. Local rivers have been ~40°-50°F. I typically wear thin wool dress socks & thick wool boot socks under my waders. My feet have been quite cold after 10-15mins in the water. For my living room testing purposes I used my thin wool dress socks & new 2.5mm Wetsox under the latex. Plunged my foot into an ice water bath & started the timer. After 10mins my foot was cool. After over 35mins my foot is much cooler but I can still feel & move my toes. These socks seem to work. They stretch well so should be comfortable walking along the river chasing steelhead. Let's hope they're as durable as they are warm & comfortable. ... show more

I ve been surfing for 40 years and I can't believe I just bought a pair of these. I wanted something to help my winter boot come off easier, but they do everything! They make the boots to go on easier of course but they also add a layer of warmth to my feet and calves. They did indeed make the boots slide off easily but as an added bonus my 5 mil wetsuit doesn't hang up at the ankles anymore it just pops off! Amazing. Taking the suit off is now effortless and hands free and saves time. A quick minute to put the socks on after the boots come off but well worth that minute. Ordered the XL and have a size 11-12 foot. They were bigger than expected. Used them to surf once inside the booties and wasn’t happy with the feel and loss of dexterity. Feet got colder, faster! The major plus of this product is when donning and removing the winter 6/5/4mm suit. I put the socks on after the booties come off and use the socks for taking the suit off. I wore these diving today for the first time. I was dubious from some of the reviews but this was a great purchase. They are the right thickness to easily fit into dive booties without making them feel too tight. They helped with putting on my wetsuit and then sliding on my booties. My feet felt a bit warmer while diving and they are really great when pulling off the booties! I mean, really great! I bought a medium although my size was in the middle of the chart. fit fairly well a bit snug, have reinforced heel so you can't switch left and right feet by putting the front to the back as the inside foot is molded to be longer where the large toe is. I appreciate the reinforced heel as I have torn through the thinner socks (which is why I ordered these thicker ones). I use them for wet wading inside a wading boot. The only thing is that the heel reinforcement appears good on the right one but a little to low on the left. Ok I ordered the black and these socks are not waterproof and not neoprene in any way. Tested like a wader by turning inside out and filling with water. And the water ran right out the toe seam. Now maybe the camo which states 2.5 mm . Maybe they are neoprene but the black are a fabric not rubber
