I have olive skin. So, even though I'm pale, light-colored lipsticks make me look even more pale - like I'm sick or unwell. This, and a couple other bold colors available, allow me to look like I have a nice "pop of color. OVERVIEW PROS 1) Great colors available that may be hard to find elsewhere. 2) Moisturizing and easy to apply. 3) No scent or taste issues. 4) Lower cost than most of the name brands in Sephora and department stores. 5) No need to get up and leave your home to purchase the products. CON 4) Expect to reapply throughout the day if you aren't a daily 32oz to 64 oz water drinker, and are always dehydrated. NOTE: Reapplying is not as big of a thing because the bold colors actually improve how I think I look. Why is how you think you look important? Without boasting or being arrogant, positive thinking can help you focus on your tasks at hand, rather than continually focusing on negative feelings that are playing on "repeat" in your mind. Even a mountain of work is comprised of tasks. Give yourself "props" on each task you complete, rather than focusing on the enormity of all the work piled up together. Thinking that you like how you look may give you the desire to want to compliment someone else. Giving a compliment is free and only takes 15 to 30 seconds. FACTS: This lipstick, or any lipstick is NOT going to change your life or become your answer to how you feel about yourself, overall. It is, however, a nice sprinkle of self-love, which can help you stay a bit more positive, which may boost your self-confidence a smidge, help you get through your daily tasks at work, and can give you the ability to want to pay it forward to others, lifting up someone else's spirits. Color: Black Orchid
Just a heads-up to anyone assuming this might be a burgundy lipstick, or anything remotely similar to the usual "black cherry" shades out there - this is not. It's actually more of a reddish-pink color, and much lighter. It is so different from what I was expecting, that I thought maybe Amazon made a mistake and gave me the wrong color, so I double-checked the name, and nope - it was indeed "Black Orchid." It was not what I was hoping for, but it DOES last impressively long for a $1 lipstick, and it works well as a cream blush, so I'll just keep it to use on my cheeks.

Color: Raging Red
The shade “raging red” is great for fair olive skin. I often have trouble finding red lipstick that doesn’t throw pink when I wear it. This one does not do that and is a lovely red color on me. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t dry out my lips. For 2ish dollars you really can’t go wrong.

I like the light formulation, but you must prep your lips with liner and powder before application-I don’t think for this price that’s unreasonable. I purchased the color Cherry Frost, which is a lovely cool deep pink-red, it reminds me of the iconic Revlon Cherries in the Snow. The reason this got three stars is for the horrible component. The top has fallen off twice and there is now a large crack in the plastic. If I put this in a purse, I’d put it in a small zip top plastic bag or lipstick holder. For the price, it’s not worth returning.

I have a bunch of these and they all look really pretty. They're creamy and the colors are as expected. They are highly pigmented. The first use is a bit waxy and the color transfers a bit, but they're $1. Could they be improved? Maybe - but not for this price point. I would absolutely buy more colors.

This is a great lipstick! I actually bought it for Halloween and I’m grateful I got to use it a couple times before my dog got a hold of it! He literally took it off my dresser but it’s a beautiful on him as well. But in all seriousness, it’s a great blue based red, making it a true red for whiter looking teeth.

Color: Dark Pink Frost
A lovely light mauve pink that would go well with all complexions, but it is quite frosted with gold, not silver. Formula is moist but not glossy and I noticed no artificial fragrance. For the price, you can afford to try many colors.
