  • Works as advertised. Read the directions to avoid issues
Style: 4500W Dual Fuel
The preparation prior to starting the generator were very well written and concise. They anticipate any issues and cover them in these directions, I would imagine from past customers who could not or would not read the directions. I did have to charge the battery before it would start the first time, not a surprise or issue. i simply plugged in the adaptor and left it to charge for several hours, sorry I did not time it. Once it had a sufficient charge it cranked over a couple of times and fired right up. I started it the next day as part of the break in process and it started second crank. I did try and run my compressor on it and it tripped the breaker, the reason, a insufficient extension cord between the compressor and generator. The generator tripped its breaker, recognizing the issue. Once I plugged the compressor right into the generator it ran just fine. The air compressor was certainly alot louder than the generator even under load. I am going to continue the break in period, but so far I like the generator. The integrated handle is great for moving it around, I will just reiterate read the instructions and the manual, it could really save you some headaches. I shouldn't have to tell you to do this, but I realize guys are buying this and a few of them will skip that part. I love the remote, it started and stopped every time. It works like a charm. It is also very quiet, like any piece of equipment it seems loud when you are right next to it, but walk away 75 feet or so and you really cannot hear it. I am very pleased with the quality. ... show more

  • Westinghouse iGen4000DFc Inverter Generator
Style: 4000W Dual Fuel + Remote Start + CO Sensor
The Westinghouse 4000w Generator arrived in excellent condition and as scheduled. The unit and accessories were very well packed and there were no problems and the unit was lighter in weight than expected. After adding the break-in oil, I added a small amount of gas and per the instructions, placed the "Fuel Type Control Knob" in the center position in order to have fuel enter the carburetor and manually started the unit. After moving the Control Knob to "Gasoline", the generator ran smoothly. During this hour break-in period, I was able to test the Duel-Fuel Propane option as well as the electric push-button and remote start with no problems. After an hour of run time, the generator ran smooth and cool to the the touch on the outside covers. I am very happy so far with the performance and look forward to using this generator with our RV as well as a backup emergency generator. ... show more

  • Exactly what I was looking for
Style: 4000W Dual Fuel + Remote Start + CO Sensor
I've owned lots of generators from 2000 to 30,000 watts. This is my favorite so far. I bought it for power outages, camping and to run tools at the job site where there is no power. I don't use a generator very often, so after they sit for awhile, they wont start. I'm going to use this on propane only so that wont happen. And propane stores forever. This is the perfect size for me. I don't run multiple large tools at once. I wanted the smallest gen set I could find that will still run any tool I have. If I can plug it into a wall outlet, this thing will run it. It also runs my RV rooftop AC unit without having to link two of them together. Duel fuel, electric start with a remote. I love it. Update 2024-04-16: I needed a high altitude kit for the propane regulator and the Westinghouse website didn't even have this model. After 3 calls to their support line, they finally found the part number for me to order. Support was very quick to answer the phone and very helpful, it just took awhile. ... show more

  • Pretty quiet
Style: 4500W Dual Fuel
I bought this to save myself the trouble of maintaining gasoline powered equipment. I have already replaced my yard maintenance tools with electric or diesel, but when power goes down - frequently where I live, I would find myself tearing into a crappy carburator. This little genny is dual fuel, but I haven't yet tried the propane. We had a very easy winter, so we only had a few outages and only one was overnight, about 18 hours . I wanted to break it in with gasoline, better lubrication, then switch to a permanent propane setup,. This thing ran for 24 hours on gasoline running a medium load and I let it idle to run itself out of fuel. I will change and inspect the oil and take a look at everything else before it runs again, and it will be on propane. I expect it to still sip fuel gently on moderate loads (fridge and freezer, maybe a few lights) and probably a 30% increase when during a prolonged outage, plug in the well pump and water heater. I don't understand why they include a remote. In order to be useful, the unit must remain "on", meaning that battery is forever available, which is not ideal. Had I designed this setup. It would cost about $5.00 more. I would have an extra solenoid to remotely switch the battery on. I find this to be pretty dumb. I could make it all work with arduino and a couple of switches, but I'm already there with extension cords, so just push the freaking button. Alexa, run the generator. Ha! Alexa doesn't have power, remember? The lights are off! It's a nice quiet "pure sine wave" machine. I like it. You might like it too. Honda is still pretty sweet, but I'll spend a quarter of a Honda on this and see where I land. I'm betting on being better off. ... show more

  • Quiet and dependable
Style: 4500W Dual Fuel + Remote Start + CO Sensor
This has gotten us through several storm outages dependably and have about 50 hours on it to date. It is compact, sleek, and quiet, a bit heavy to be hefting say into a truck, but then it is 4500 W. So far I have only used propane, which has been great, so cannot comment on gasoline use. The only minor defect so far has been the reading of kW delivered which begins correctly but can drift and get stuck at times after a couple hours. It resets fine when I restart, but not worth taking in for repair. Overall, I am exceedingly pleased and highly recommend it. ... show more
