  • Great backup generator/inverter
Style: 11000 Watts Inverter - Dual Fuel
Directions were easy to follow. Started up on second try, ran very smoothly. Noise was less than expected. Easy to move around, nice quality.

  • Best generator for the money!
Style: 8200 Watts Inverter - Tri Fuel
Really NICE generator! I added the oil (comes with it), connected the battery (which also comes with it), and hooked it up to a propane tank and it fired up instantly! It is really quiet!! I have completed the break in procedure, drained the oil and replaced. Servicing the unit is really easy. The access panel can easily be removed without any tools. One really nice feature is it comes with a built in battery maintainer. When not using the generator, it can be plugged into an electrical outlet, to keep the battery fully charged. This assures the generator is ready to go when needed!!! I highly recommend this generator to anyone……especially if 240 volts is needed! ... show more

  • Sturdy and solid
Style: 11000 Watts Inverter - Dual Fuel
Features I wanted (prioritized in order), which I found on this iGen11000DFc generator: An "inverter" generator (to get THD or Total Harmonic Distortion under 3%) A "Dual Fuel" generator (to run either Propane or Gasoline) An electric start (from a battery) with "recoil" or manual start option Size: Something close to 10,000 watts (or 10KW) to easily handle any one circuit in our home (hot water heater, electric range, electric clothes dryer, etc.) Transfer switch ready (so I can "plug the house into it") Able to deliver 240 Volt circuits (required to be able to "plug the house into it") Bonus feature: The "c" in the model name for Westinghouse indicates it has a carbon monoxide shutoff feature - to shut down if carbon monoxide levels from the exhaust get dangerous around it. Packaging was great. Assembly was easy. Adding oil was made easy with supplied funnel, etc. Started it up yesterday (on propane) - took two tries to get it to start. The second try, it started but ran very rough, misfiring regularly. Let it do that for a minute or two, then shut it off. Started it again and it started right up and ran smooth. I proceeded to test it over the next 80 minutes, hooked it to our home with a 50 amp cord, and tried various circuits in the home including a heat pump, fridge, freezer, computers with monitors, TV, etc. - all worked fine. Ran the house on it for a while. My wife forgot it was on and started the electric dryer even. No issues whatsoever. The generator handled them all just fine and behaved like it was just idling to do it - it never seemed to strain or struggle. I then disconnected it from the house and started it multiple times, different ways, with the key fob, even pulling the cord (which took two pulls to start it). Every time it seemed to work just great! Downside that I saw only after reviewing the manual in detail - it says that it's not good at cold temps with the included oil (cold meaning below 23 degrees F). I want this for winter in Maine. So, I plan to change the oil out to the recommended 5W-30 synthetic oil for cold temps sometime after the burn in period - but the manual says to use the included oil until the generator is used sufficient to get it through a normal motor burn in of about 5 hours (as I understand it from reviewing the manual). Would I recommend - "yes". Bonus - it was quieter than I expected it to be. That's why my wife forgot it was even running and started the dryer in our home - she didn't even notice it was still on from inside our well-insulated home. ... show more

  • Good Gen. for the price!
Style: 11000 Watts Inverter - Tri Fuel
So far Great quality! hesitant at 1st being "chiiina" made.. 95% assembled, only had to bolt on wheels, handle, resting feet. gen. smelled good and clean. ran on propane about 6 hrs. to break in, changed oil to Synthetic high moly. Hooked to house via 220V plug to breaker panel. powered most everything at same time in 3000 S.F. house including 1000w Microwave, 3.5 ton heat pump on HIGH, most led lights, tv/ stereo system, electric induction range (this overloaded the Gen. at "high" settings but works at med and lower including oven on high. I could hear the gen ramping up / down as I added removed load. I would check load gauge display after powering items on 1 at a time. and waiting a few seconds to stabilize output. did notice it would over load easier as the propane level got near empty. would also frost up the cylender. fixed that by placing it in the exhaust path. keeping it warm but not hot. I dont plan on using Gas unless i have to as I dont want to deal with carb draining and maint, possible stale gas in the large tank. I only anticipate needing this a few times in the winter for a few days. (overkill maybe? hehe) it has enough power to supply neighbors basics as well. if needed. It really should have come with Natural gas regulator/ hose as well.. its other competition does! ALMOST as quiet as the new Harbor Freight 11500 tri fuel. *bonus of free gen. cover after registration/ review (seen here) I dont need pictures or videos as those are all over the internet and they are exactly the same. ... show more

  • Great generator with the right mix of outlets
Style: 11000 Watts Inverter - Dual Fuel
Generator was easy to setup and runs great. We ran our entire wedding off this unit, including a 5 piece band, lights in the tent and other accessories. I like the remote start, when we used it for power during a winter storm! The variety of outlets (2 20A, 30A and 50A) was great when paired with accessory cords that convert the 50A or 30A to multiple outles rated for 20A. Good run time and clear labeling. Great product. ... show more
