  • Absolutely drop dead amazing! "black" finish appears to be more of a dark blue in this light..
Color: Black
This guitar is absolutely beautiful, the neck is amazing the quality is out of this world. The only thing I'm wondering about is I ordered the black mirage guitar with the red pickups and knobs but the Finish looks unmistakenly dark blue with a sparkle finish. Maybe it's just the lighting but this very much looks more blue than black. But allow me to do further research to find out if it's just the light and angle playing a trick on me or if it is in fact a bluish tinted guitar. I was really hoping for black and red. I'm still giving it a five-star review because of the unbelievable quality, and even though I want a black and red guitar if it is in fact blue it's a beautiful shade of blue, and that's saying a lot because I would never own a blue guitar and never have. And I would still keep this guitar for life. ... show more

  • Highly recommended!
Color: Blue
Came setup quite well. Action about 1.3mm, slightest amount of relief as possible without being totally flat, and no string buzzing. Nut is cut very well (perfect slot heights) without any nut-related tuning issues. Tuners are smooth and seem to hold tune well. Bridge pickup is hot at 16.4k and neck is 9k. At high-gain, I didn't detect any microphonics. The frets are mostly level. I did get a fret rocker to detect a few high frets, but they're not high enough to create any issues at 1.3mm action, so I left them alone. The only thing I did to this guitar was polish the frets, which were all a little gritty, which can be expected in a budget guitar. I do not plan on modding this guitar. For me, it will totally meet my needs 100% stock. Lastly, I have the metallic blue finish and it is free of flaws. West Creek pretty much nailed it with my instrument. Good job West Creek Guitars! One recommendation to West Creek Guitars, if you’re watching customer feedback here, BRING BACK the RED finish that you once offered on the West Creek Racer, and make that available in all of your models! Especially on the Racer, Mirage, and High Voltage models. ... show more

  • The body is much smaller than I thought it was.
Color: Black
I love the design of the guitar I just wish that the body was larger. I'm a tall guy and it just didn't work out for me so I had to send it back.

  • Sweet!
Color: Blue
Awesome axe! Its everything I hoped it would be. Excellent flat, strong neck. Great fret board with 24 top notch frets. Love the lightning bolt fret markers. Cool asymmetrical headstock, with stable tuning keys and perfectly cut bone nut. The body is very comfortable while practicing. The pups are very clean, clear and powerful without sounding muddy or saturated. The sparkly blue finish is sharp and reminiscent of a race car. A very nice updating of a Gibson Thunderbird. ... show more

  • Killer design and slick Finish!
Color: Black
Above and beyond my expectations.bridge pickup comes in at 16 k! Neck pickup 9 k. It Came set up. I lowered action a little because i like it low as possible. Polished the frets (slightly scratchy) amazing tone out of pickups. No noise pickups are nicely enclosed and most likely wax potted. The neck is the best ive exer played when needing access to higher frets. 10 out of 10 thank you westcreek ... show more
Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2025 by Amazing guitar! Came in perfect condition. Barely had to lower the bridge for full setup. Decent strings (recommend a change to youre specific sound) pickups are punchy and crisp! Thank you!

  • Nice guitar
Color: Blue
Very nice! Great color and played well right out of the box. The pickups look great and sound like hot ceramics. No complaints.

  • A bit overpriced with issues.
Color: Blue
I'm a pro guitar tech with over 40 years experience of tweaking guitars. I got the metallic blue. It was a return, and it took me awhile to find out why. The guitar was so noisy (probably why it was returned). I thought it was the improper shielding and use of non-shielded wires throughout the control cavity. I reshielded (with shielding paint) and rewired the whole guitar with proper shielded wiring. It was still noisy, especially around the bridge area. Turns out the ground from the control cavity to the bridge was not connected. Even when I connected it, there was still noise. The bridge and height screw had continuity, but the bushing for the height screw did not. It was painted over. I did not have a black bushing, so I use a chrome one (they always have continuity) and just painted the top of the bushing black. This solved the problem, and the guitar is super quiet! The pickups are very good (as stated in other reviews) and enclosed with 4-conductor if you want to mod split coils. Great build quality, but the guitar is extremely neck heavy. This may bother same players, so here's what I did: I added 1.5 lbs on the back (micro weights from Amazon) which balanced the guitar very well. This will make the guitar much heavier but is reversible leaving only one small hole in the control cavity cover. See photos. The guitar intonates spot on and plays like a dream with excellent access to the highest frets. I love the inlays and the unique Firebird design. 24 3/4" scale. I really can't recommend the guitar at this price range. Might wait till the close-outs. ... show more
