As with many other exotic hardwoods, this stuff is quite hard, much harder than any domestic hardwood. Therefore, it is subject to planer tear out, and/or router tear out. Same applies to Zebrawood, Padauk, and especially purple heart. But these woods are beautiful, just use care.

    • Warped boards
Size: 3/4" x 2" x 24"
Wenge is beautiful wood. I enjoy using it for special projects. These two-foot boards should have worked for building a picture frame. But 2 of the 4 boards are so warped I can't use them. The grain pattern is very nice. But the supplier should make sure what they send out is not warped. When you buy wood online, you have to be able to depend on the supplier to send out good wood. That big of a warp in only a 2-foot span should not have been sent out. ... show more
