I did NOT purchase the waterproof so I don’t know if that helps…but the regular smudges really easily! By the end of the day it has gotten under my eyes. And don’t even think about rubbing them with this on..you will have black eyes

    • Almost perfect !
I bought the brown color of this brand of mascara. My first one was the black one. The brown isn't as bold but it's pretty ok. As far as smudging or flaking off - I don't have that problem with it. All make-up needs re-touching halfway through the day but I wouldn't say I have mascara under my eyes. It does go on pretty well. I use the tip of the brush on my lashes , then I go over them with the brush in an upward motion. I was careful though to purchase the regular oval type brush. Not the new narrow in the middle one - that one seems like an odd shape for a mascara brush. That's why i ordered the brown one. The black one only offered that odd brush. So overall I give this brand of mascara 5 stars for staying on and making lashes fuller. Worked for me !!! Update : It did start to flake , sad to report. It started to form small grain-like pieces and fall off my eye lash which explained the dark circles under my eyes by night time. ... show more

I'm searching for a non-toxic mascara that actually lengthens and/or thickens. This isn't it. It colors my lashes and doesn't flake, which are great features. But, just doesn't do anything to extend my lashes or add any volume.

Love this mascara. By far the best I have ever purchased. For an all natural mascara, I tend to have lower expectations... but this product just rocks? Yes it will smudge if you put it on too soon after putting cream on your face. But if you are more fastidious about when and how you put it on, it will go on easy, cover your lashes with color, add any needed curl and give them just enough boost to stand out but not look fake. I usually pat a little powder on my lashes and yes before adding mascara and that seems to help (with many types of non water proof mascaras and liners) I found it lasted all day and when I replied at night, it was easy to go right over the old mascara without clumping AT ALL. You need quite a few applications, for a more dramatic look, but it lasts all night long and is even a bit difficult to remove, even though it is not waterproof and oil based or cream cleanser is best for removal.. I also found that it did not appear to damage my lashes, they remained thick and full without chunks of loss (which seems to occur with almost every other mascara). The product did not bother my eyes, bits did not find their way under or onto my contact lenses and.. well really, I could continue to rave about it. I love this mascara so much more than I expected to. I've used Clinique mascara most of my life because my mom uses Clinique and always has bonus samples. I've also tried some prestige brands(Too Faced Better Than, for example) and drugstore(Nurtrogena and Almay have worked well for me in the past). But lately I've had problems with finding a non-irritating formula I liked with a nice applicator. I even recently had an issue with my lashes falling out, due to a hypoallergenic mascara. Unfortunately, I can say with confidence it was the mascara because a week after I stopped using mascara they began improving and two months later were totally better. I researched all the 'clean' mascara options after that, and finally decided to try this one. I was skeptical, and hesitant. I love eye makeup, it is all I do most days, but my eyes are very sensitive and I usually have to try at least three brands before I find a new product. This was my first, and it does everything I wanted and more. It is dark black, does't clump at all, even if I build an extra coat on, makes my lashes look full and long and doesn't irritate my eyes. It stays on all day and doesn't smudge, but comes off easily with makeup remover. 100% worth the prestige price, because it behaves like, no, it behaves better, than a prestige product. ... show more

    • Nice Natural Mascara

This is my first "natural" mascara and I usually wear only waterproof. This formula does not irritate my eyes with sensitive skin and contacts and I only apply in the morning unless I'm going out later or at night and want to bump up the color and curl. I do like the product, although is does not give my lashes the length or volume of the non-natural types I usually buy. The mascara adds decent length, I have medium length and thickness to my lashes....and the volume is ok but again not big. I usually curl, then add one coat, wait a minute and add a 2nd light coat. I find I need to curl again as my lashes don't hold curl well and this product doesn't help with that. Altogether, I would buy again or but another natural formula as I need something that doesn't cause a rash around my eyes. Also, I'm not getting any "raccoon eye" with this product which was a nice surprise as it's not waterproof. It's not super wet or goopy which is also a plus. ... show more

All other mascara brands irritate my eyes, forever only using this brand. It’s not waterproof, although there may be a version that is. I don’t use traditional chemical makeup removers, so I like that this one comes off with warm water but stays throughout the day. Not clumpy like other brands where you open it and it is a thick sludge that leaves clumps on your lashes. This one looks more natural in that although it is still adding the dark coloring to your lashes and making them ‘pop’, it looks like you might just have natural lashes because they’re just smooth individual lashes still. ... show more
