This cutter works really well. I chose the best size to cut through a chain link fence, and this is perfect for the job. It also cuts through a small chain I had, but it was difficult to get it to cut through a thicker chain. It did, but it isn’t meant for thicker material, so I’d stick with smaller cables, wire, and bolts. The cutter is a bit stiff, but it loosened up a bit after cutting fencing for about 20 minutes, and I’m sure it’ll be even better over time. It’s strong, durable, and will probably last longer than I will.

Whenever I have had to cut small to medium chain in the past, I've broken out the Dremel with a cutting disc. It's kind of annoying, takes a bit, and makes a mess. I got these specifically to use on chain and have been pretty happy with them. I would not trust them to work or survive cutting anything too heavy, but for the chain you typically see around the house (like for hanging light and plants), it works awesome. This tool took around a month to arrive to me, but was worth the wait. These 14 inch bolt cutters feel like they could easily cut through a fence or small bolts. I think that trying to cut a Master lock with these would be difficult but doable. The bolt cutters have good weight and appear to be well designed and made from high quality steel. I cannot speak to the longevity of this tool but for $14 I think it is money well spent.

I did not like that these 14-in bolt cutters could not cut through a small padlock. In fact they barely made a dent. Not only did I try with all my strength but I also used a sledgehammer to pound on the bolt cutters which only resulted in them bending. This might be all right for snapping off nails or screws but I can do that with a saw. Sorry I got these.

I cut a 5/16" bolt and a 1/4" bolt with ease. Zero damage to the blades. I was surprised. These are well made and nice and compact. Perfect to keep in my truck box.

These bolt cutters feel quite heavy-duty, and their design allows easy cutting through metal with little effort needed. I was able to cut through chain links with any muscle needed, so I was quite impressed. Oddly, the bolt cutters themselves were all nicked up all over the surface. Not in a way that impacted the function, and it may be a one-off issue, but it was odd that a metal tool would show dings and dents like that. Even so, they're more than sufficient for my needs.

I ordered these to finally have a set of compact bolt cutters on hand. I tested these against several different thicknesses of bolts that I had on hand. It cut through them with ease. The finish is nice, the joints tight, and these just work well. Very happy with these.

I ordered this to cut steel mesh fencing to erect for a small yard. The steel jaw, made out of CR-V steel is both hard and sharp, cutting through through steel wire with ease. That said, the maximum opening of the jaw is only 6mm, or less than 1/4''. It just isn't versatile enough for general tasks called upon for bolt cutters. It's only 14'' in length which was perfect for the aforementioned task. Anything bigger would've been an overkill and too cumbersome to wield. And on that note, I'd recommend this tool to others who are in need of a bolt cutter for general light-duty tasks. 4 out of 5 stars, it's great for cutting wire fencing. But it's probably not a one-tool-for-all type of a bolt cutter.
