My 3yo is true to size (wears 3T/4T). I can't imagine this armor will fit him anytime soon, but I'm keeping it anyways as it's better than nothing. His electronic 4-wheeler isn't going to send him flying, so this armor will still offer significant protection for falls, even being that it's loose. Both my son and wife share this chest protector. She has "used" it a couple of times while taking spills on rocky trails while riding our dirt bikes. It has performed above it's cost. No serious injuries or bruises so far. The adjustable waist strap is a nice feature as well as the shoulder pads.
