We hosted a small lunch after my son's bar mitzvah and I was told I could use the temple's tablecloths and dishes etc. Thankfully, a week or so before the even, I was warned that the tablecloth situation was a hot mess of randomness. OH NO! I NEEDED the tables to match because I'm the person who must have time to mood board a party and color scheme MATTER. With only a week or so before the event, I go hunting for tablecloths. I honestly figured I could get them at the local chain party store (the one that I keep mistakenly calling Circuit City, much to my husband's great delight). Alas they only had PLASTIC and I couldn't stomach buying single-use plastic tablecloths for a mostly adult party. The only paper tablecloths I could find were lined with plastic, not helpful. As the day grew closer and my options dwindled, I decided that purchasing 8 MATCHING, white, polyester tablecloths that would be donated to the temple and used for years to come was a much better option than single-use plastic. The tablecloths-and tables- looked great. Right out of the package, they did have wrinkles where they had been folded in the package but they looked great anyway and the entire event was that much more special for looking well-planned. I added navy blue paper plates (NOT PLASTIC); navy blue paper cups for juice and white paper coffee cups; gold plastic silverware (alas I did have some single-use plastic), and white napkins with gold lettering with his name and date. I added plastic apothecary jars with gold ginger ale Jelly Bellies, gold rock candy lollipops, and blue Hershey's kisses on the food table. I was supposed to have some white candies and blue Jelly Bellies but my daughter forgot them at her house. I can use the apothecary jars over and over so the plastic isn't as painful to my heart. Bought these for a backyard party. The tablecloth creases were easily removed with an iron. At the end of the night there were many stains and I figured I would be throwing them away. I used some stain pretreatment and tide and was pleasantly surprised how well they washed and that all the stains came out. I would recommend buying these tablecloths. ... show more
