I absolutely love this cutting board. It's extremely easy to clean. If some waste clay doesn't pick up the debris then a scraper works. I've even used a thin metal scraper and it did not damage the glass though plastic ones will do the job easily. Speaking of scrapers, dont worry that any of the grid or ruler will wear off as it is not printed on the surface. The glass itself is thick and sturdy. I use a roller with a handle and my hand slips here and there so the acrylic roller hits the surface. Aside from being loud it hasn't caused any damage to the glass so far. I find the size of the mat to be large enough for my needs without taking up too much space. The corner protectors are great but slip off easily. I imagine if you want to keep them on there a small drop of hot glue would do the trick but otherwise allows for quick removal for cleanup. Even without the guards the glass is rounded enough that no one is going to hurt themselves. The value for the money is fantastic. I'm very pleased to have stumbled across this winner of a product and wish I had it since the beginning of my clay journey. ... show more

I've used this thing for SO LONG, it's like an old friend of mine now. I love that it's so big, so I can have a huge workspace with it. It has been resistant to everything I've thrown at it; Exacto knives, paint, clay, oil, acetone, etc. The ONLY thing I dislike about it, is the rubber corners. They fall of SO EASILY. They've been in a case on my desk as long as I can remember, because while it would be nice to have corner protection on this thing, they do NOT STICK ON. You could turn the thing sideways and they'd just slide right off. So unless you're gluing em on or never lifting it from your surface, I'd just remove them. Use this For Polymer Clay Crafting

I use this glass mat for my Polymer Clay crafting, and it is worth every single penny. It is a snap to clean with baby wipes or paper toweling and a spritz of rubbing alcohol. It is large enough for caning, slab and veneer work, yet small enough to be portable and to store easily upright between books. About the size of an old record album cover for reference... I use tissue blades on it daily and have no problems with the glass scratching. The graph and ruler markings are printed/screened on the back of the glass, so they are permanent. The edges are ground smooth, so no need for tape or a frame as when using picture frame or window glass. All in all, a great tool for Polymer Clay artists & crafters!! ... show more

Perfect For Everyday Crafts

I am pretty happy with this cutting mat. Glue residue comes off easily. Paint and ink cleans off without staining. Cutting papers are made easy. The best part is the ruler! I can easily measure my paper and cut without problems. Highly recommended.

Sadly Disappointed, Getting Happier

My glass mat arrived warped so that it tips back and forth trying to do anything on it, making precision work impossible . It was very poorly packaged in a large box with zero packing material, so maybe that was part of the problem. I have asked for a replacement, hoping this will be a fluke, as I am so looking forward to using this for many, many art and craft purposes, and it is just the right size for my space. If the replacement arrives in usable condition, I will up the stars on my review. 7-29-19 UPDATE: The replacement is an improvement, but does still have some unsteadiness problems. I am finding this fairly easy to correct. Because of the placement of the non-stick feet, the entire glass panel bows towards the center if much pressure is exerted on it. I am finding that strategically placed dense cardboard slid underneath provides stability. It doesn't take much thickness. If you have purchased magnetic vent covers from Home Depot to store your dies, the cardboard that comes in those packages is exactly right for sliding under the mat. It is very dense, and about a mm thick. It covers from the 3/4 inch mark across almost to the 9 inch mark, which means I need another piece cut 3-/4 inches wide to go under the entire mat. I plan to cover these entirely in contact paper so they can get wet without disintegrating, and be washable. The feet are not affected by the cardboard, so continue to do their stellar job of holding the glass firmly in place. I'm pretty happy. So now to using it and becoming happier still. ... show more

Fantastic easy to clean mat with guidelines

How have I survived crafting with out this????? I had seen a youtube demo done by Cindy Leitz, so decided it was right up my alley and had to get it. Since my local crafts stores don't have it and I can't use those handy 40% off coupons, I went on Amazon and ordered it (it is not expensive for what you get, totally worth full price). The glass mat is so handy for measuring, my weak point, and makes cutting and drawing straight lines so much faster and easier. I use it for polymer clay, and all the stuff I use with my polyermer clay (inks, paints, resins, etc) and it is so easy to clean up. I use baby wipes for most cleaning, and sometimes i need to use a razor blade to scrap up paint or a thick glob of ink and mica powder globs that dried on it. Glass is such a wonderful surface to work on, so forgiving and easy to care for. The size it perfect to work on, and working on glass just offers so much benefit over the silicone mat I had been using: cleans up easier, can make clay stick to it when doing certain techniques where you want the clay to stay put, see measure lines, degree lines, squares, and it leaves no texture to clean up on your clay. The glass mat is actually pretty sturdy as well, it is a thick heavy glass, not something that would make you worry it will break or snap. I think the only thing that could make this mat better is if it had a neutral gray color backing instead of white for color work. ... show more
