I previously had a clean/dirty magnet that I bought from a boutique catalog ... nothing exciting however it filled a purpose. Then we bought a new dishwasher and I didn't want anything sticking to the stainless steel face. My husband and I quickly realized we missed the old magnet as we never knew if the dishes were clean or dirty. I decided to look for a new magnet and didn't realize all the options available. I selected this one as it looked up-scale and had stainless steel look to it. We both love it! I cringed when it came time to tape the adhesive strips to the dishwasher as I didn't want to mar the front. I was so wrong! The adhesive was strong and the sign with the handwriting give it a polished look. The slide from clean to dry is smooth and the sign actually looks like it is built into the dishwasher - something I didn't expect and was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend this!

We used to use a filthy index card that said "Dirt" on one side and "Clene" on the other. My son had initially made the improvised sign before he could spell very well. We were on our third incarnation of the index card (we nostalgically spelled the words wrong, even though spelling was no longer a challenge) when a light bulb went off. What if we ditched the index cards and got a new dishwasher that would tell us whether the dishes have been cleaned or not? Man, life would be pretty sweet then--no more flipping the index card over and no more hiding it from our stuck-up neighbors who probably already have wifi enabled dishwashers that teach their kids German. Anyways, the technological advancement of dishwashers has apparently NOT reached that of refrigerators and I guess we're stuck with a magnetized sign that doesn't stick to our particular dishwasher without the adhesive backing. My pipe dreams of wiping the smug look off our neighbors' faces aside, the sign is perfect for the purpose.

This looks really great on my black DW. I'd imagine it would look good on white or stainless as well. I like the font the wood print background. The magnet is strong enough to hold it on without the included double stick pads. Just wish I would have bought one of these sooner. Now to see if I can train my 4 boys to use it!
