didn't take the time to notice that these are only two Watts -- most likely meant to be background lights for above your water dispenser (that little blue light you see at night getting a glass of water) -- I was looking for a bulb to improve the down lighting from the bottom of my built-in Microwave -- the original incandescent bulb isn't bright enough and casts a yellowish glow -- I did screw one in and it worked fine -- also screwed into my ceiling fan with the same E17 socket -- they both worked fine but barely lit up the fixture

I installed this bulb in the light fixture on the bottom of my built in microwave and was underwhelmed. It works but it just didn’t seem any brighter than the old incandescent. Perhaps there is another appliance use this bulb would be better suited for. I guess that I’m used to swapping LED headlights in my cars and the results are so dramatic that this really wasn’t much of an improvement.

LED bulbs for several microwave brands (mine is Whirlpool above range model) can fail to turn fully off even when the Light setting is OFF. Mine cycles through FULL, HALF, OFF. All is well until the OFF. Then it is still on but very low, perhaps at a QUARTER(?) but I think even less. Makes for a nice night light but it remains lit 24/7. Not good but apparently an issue with the microwave (a trickle current remains, not enough for the original non-LED bulb, but enough to make the LED glow). This bulb is 20W. I had another brand's 40W bulb to try and it had the same 'OFF is not off' behavior. To avoid the issue if you have it you might need to revert to the original bulb type, meaning you don't get to cut down from 40W to 4W and same heat and electricity.

These lights are perfect if you’re looking to replace the bulb over your range and want to go to LED route. The light that comes out is very bright and it fits perfectly in my GE microwave on the underside by the range. I understand that these can only go on the high setting, but it would’ve been nice to be able to dim it as well. Overall, a good deal for the money.
