I have hard flooring throughout my entire house, so walking around barefoot for a long period of time makes my feet sore. It also seems like 10 minutes after I mop the floors, they're dirty again... and I HATE walking on what feels like grit or dirt on the floor. So I often wear socks around the house... which creates a lot of extra laundry, and wears my socks out quicker. When I first received these shoes I had just planned on trying them on real quick, then put them away to save for use during our upcoming beach trip. But once I had them on, they were sooooooo comfortable that I decided to leave them on to walk around the house. They are much more comfortable than going barefoot or wearing socks on my hard floors. I very well may end up buying a second pair for the beach, and keep these as 'house shoes.' I also love that they look a lot like tennis shoes (aka sneakers), thanks to the laces -- which can be tightened and loosened. My old pair of beach shoes had a zipper running along the top, and looked more like bowling shoes. One of the zippers broke after a few uses, which is why I started searching for a new pair. I was happy to find these zipper-free, nice-looking replacements. That said, these cost a lot more than my old ones (which were less than $10.) I go to the beach every few months and am always worried about stepping on broken glass, pieces of aluminum, and fishing hooks when walking along the beach and in the water. Wearing beach shoes eases my mind quite a bit because the bottom rubber adds a good bit of protection from injury/cuts that can easily be caused by sharp objects covered/hidden by sand or seaweed. I wish I could trust other beach goers not to leave their trash behind, but I learned a long time ago that many people are big-time litter bugs, and do not concern themselves with the increased danger their beer cans and beer bottles (etc) creates -- not to mention the danger to sea life and birds who mistake garbage for food. I suspect these shoes will also help protect me if I were to accidentally step on a stingray while in the water. The only negative I've found with these is the fact that the insole comes out EVERY single time I remove my foot. It's easy enough to push it back in, but it's still quite annoying. I did not have that problem with my old shoes. I plan to try some sort of very strong, waterproof glue to keep the insoles inside both shoes.

This is a good water shoe. Its pretty light, comfortable and easy to put on. I did end up returning it unfortunately. The plastic end piece of the left shoe broke off easily on the first time I cinched up the lace and I was not able to place it back on. The shoe size is true to fit but I got half a size bigger because I was worried about the width of the toe box since I prefer wider shoes for room for my toes. If the lace end didn't break off and I got a half size smaller I would of keep this shoe. I also bought another pair and different style for a family member. The lace end was not plastic but cloth like. This one we kept and tried out. The shoe fits perfect for her. It was snug enough that it wont come off from the water. The shoe was taken on a river rafting trip and held in place when worn. The water drained out pretty quick and dried off over night. The soles of the shoe gripped the surface pretty well on rocks with some algae and the soles had enough cushion and thick enough to easily walk over rough, rocky and uneven surfaces. If I was to buy another shoe, it would be the same one that we kept.
