The couch we got fully expanded within the day and had a slight “factory” stench to it but while letting it rise it mostly disappeared. The couch is VERY soft and the cover is machine washable which makes it very convenient for cleaning. The cushions are firm and have little give and if you wanted to use as an actual couch it is more suited to kids probably age 12 and under. It is great fun for the kids to build and play with. We thought the gray color and really are impressed with how well it matches the pictures online. It is pretty easy to move around and build into anything. However, a few weeks after purchasing it, a zipper on one of the large double cushions broke. I repaired it myself, but it recently broke again. A fun set! Open the box and everything is vacuum sealed, carefully cut open the couch pieces and let the pieces expand. Time to play around with the pieces and make a couch to relax on. The purple color is beautiful. The covers of the set are removable and washable. All zippers work well. I like the velvet feel to the pieces, soft and cozy. Loads of fun building or just enjoying the couch. It is fun to watch the little ones use their creativity and imagination to create a castle, fort, tunnels and more. They even enjoy taking a nap on the couch. The set includes arch, oval, square, rectangle pieces allow us to explore and build lots of things. When set up as a couch, it is quite comfortable. The media could not be loaded. This couch is so much more than a couch. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed building forts with it, my youngest made a reading nook. I know longer have to sacrifice my couch cushions for the building. There are 12 different pieces of varying shapes and sizes - the possibilities for playing, creating, and sleeping are endless.
