This tablecloth looks very nice on my dining room table, giving it a more dressier appearance. The vinyl is average in thickness (wish it was thicker). I hope it holds up because my cats sometimes go on the table so I hope their claws don't damage the tablecloth.

Product arrived in packaging that was compromised and because of this, I opened up a big mess that I had to clean up. There was fine, dust particle everywhere! Who knows what I was exhaling and I just hope it wasn't toxic. I wore a mask and had to wipe down the whole front and backside of the tablecloth. I think having to clean up this dust of who knows what is worse than just cleaning up a liquid spill. Attached pic of the product out of the packaging and it should appear clear but looks like a could of dust instead. I even contemplated trashing this thing. Once it was cleaned up, I wasn't fond at all of the lace trim. It looked like something found in an old person's house where they have lace doilies only the doilies yellowed for more than a century. The pics in the ad don't look as yellow as mine, so I wonder if the exposure to the dust affected it. The lace may be a unique idea, but I ended up hating it but moreso because it looked so yellow -- like pages of an aged book. I have used this on our kitchen island over a fabric tablecloth for when he hosted over the holidays and I am happy to say cleaning up what spilled onto this thing was a breeze. I was worried about setting hot dishes directly on it, but I use trivets or set out pot holders. The trivets have a tendency to leave indentations in the tablecloth due to the weight, but it disappears after a few minutes. I gave a family member a really nice dining table, name brand, and when I was there recently I can tell that her kids have been really hard on it. I thought this might be a kind way to help stop the destruction while still showing the beauty of the table, instead of saying something about it. Luckily I could give it as a holiday gift so it wasn't out of the blue which might have been too obvious. The plastic is nice and thick so it doesn't wrinkle up like thinner kinds do. The weight of it holds it in place without folds and wrinkles. It's got the clear where the table decorative edge is and then the fancy edge of this hangs down from there. It's easier to wipe up than the cheaper type table cloths are. It's easy to spot the mess as well. One thing we've done in the past was to put a world map underneath a clear table cloth and then we can talk about events or world news and show the kids where that is happening (i.e. earthquake, elections, vacations and trips we've gone on) The one trouble with clear is that it does show cuts, scratches and marks more than a fancy print would. Cloth ones aren't as affected by that stuff and you can throw them in the wash. But this one is more protective so it's worth it. ... show more

I like simple clean looking decor. I can't handle busy designs or patterns on items that are big and take center attention like a table cloth. I feel traped by the design/color/look. But, I also have little kids who use the dinning room table as their crafting table. I needed something to cover and protect my table, but something that still looked like adult decor, not a checkered or high design pattern. I needed a table cloth that was thick and durable, all the cheap plastic table covers one uses for a birthday party would just wrinkle or tear and wouldn't stay in place. With this beauty I got everything I wanted!!! It's absolutly beautiful, the plastic is clear and clean looking, it's super thick and durable, it stays in place, I get to see my table and not be bound by a color or design, it wipes clean without leaving a hazy film, it looks gown up, it withstands all the crayons and pencil markings without letting it scrap my table, and most importantly it saves my table from all the glue, playdough, paint, markers and of course food and drink spills. So far it's been great, the only issue with it being plastic is that if the wrong kind of paint gets on there it is hard to get off. Usually I can use a razor blade to scrape paint off the floor or other hard objects, but since this is plastic I have had to switch to a plastic scrapper.
