These shelves are basically made out of balsa wood with a wood-look covering of contact paper....really cheap contact paper. I took one look at them, boxed them back up and returned them!

The shelves are in good shape, but the depth is not very deep like it appears to be. They show a pic with DVDs on it, and DVDs or books will hang off. It is cute for small decor items that are no bigger than 6 inches.

    • Fine for lightweight storage
These are very lightweight, but they're fine for DVD storage. I would suggest attaching the metal hangers to the shelf before hanging on the wall. The directions state otherwise, but following their instructions would be difficult if not impossible. I'd also drill a tiny pilot hole in the bottom of the shelf to make attaching the metal hangers easier. ... show more

Great shelf for small books. Can't fit large books (wide) on it though. They did forget to include needed screws. Had to use some screws I already had on hand.
