These Walker Razor Slim Earmuffs are a pretty good product. They are comfortable, and work as designed. Voices come through well, and loud noises like gunshots are properly muffled. They aren’t as comfortable with glasses as I would have hoped, but that’s usually the trade off when wearing a properly fitted earmuff. They are compact and light weight which makes it a lot easier for packing with your stuff. The folding design is really nice. They also have an audio input jack which is a nice option for adding an external audio source for communications or music if desired. I paid just over $40 for these, which I would say is a good price for the quality. I’m not sure I would pay the MSRP of $80, but I’d definitely recommend them on a good sale. The volume switch works well to dial in the level you need, but I generally found myself keeping it either up all the way, or off. The slim design is a huge factor in getting a proper cheek weld. Many other earmuffs I have used are just too bulky and don’t allow for proper form when shooting rifles. Battery life seems to be good too. Very nice hearing protection. Works well, comes with actual Duracell batteries. That alone tells you about the company and their quality. Good stuff. Well built, work well, pretty comfortable and work as advertised!

I bought these to use at the range so I can actually hear when someone talks to me, but also keep out the gun shots and other sounds in the background. These things are so good that even with them barely turned on, the sounds of people talking within earshot has been such a benefit because no more shouting and what's even better, when the RSO's are talking behind me, a good 15 feet away, I can hear their conversations clearly as if they were standing side by side to me, and I didn't have my headset on at all. The gunshots merely melt away in the background and do not trigger my ears, no ringing in the ear from hearing the gunshots and no unexpected need to be surprised when someone decides to randomly start shooting after the entire range is quiet. These are awesome, the fact it has the option to hook up a radio attachment or the Walker headset add-on that allows you to use a 2way radio right through the headset without the need to buy radios and wires to properly equip them makes these even better. I can talk to my wife without shouting at the range now, and adding on the attachment allows us to talk even if we are a few ports away from each other. The only thing I think that could be better is to make them rechargeable, but rechargeable batteries do exist, so it's not that big of an inconvenience. These work well weather you put batteries in or not. If the batteries die, the only thing you can't do is rely on the microphones to pick up voices for conversations; however, the headset works great at still keeping the loud sounds out and protecting your hearing, but they definitely work better with the batteries in and the headset activated as they remove the sounds even further. They work great and are very comfortable. I used those cheap foam ear plugs for a long time, which don't work as well and come loose sometimes. Now i got tinnitus in one of my ears. I was reluctant to switch to ear muffs because i didn't really understand how noise canceling technology worked, and i felt like they would be cumbersome on my head. If i had not been stubborn, i might have saved my hearing. I was impressed by how well they cancel out really loud sounds, while still being able to maintain a conversation. They work very very well. They fit really snug over the ears almost too snug but I would rather that than be too loose. You can hear people talk so you can hold a conversation but silence the noise when you shoot. If you like over the ear they are worth it. These have a noise reduction rating of 23, but I noticed that it is still somewhat loud in an indoor range. I used ear foam plugs for additional protection. Otherwise, the electronics work correctly and they are slim fit.

The difference between Walker's Earmuffs and others is both in quality and efficiency. The construction of Walker's products are always outstanding. Quality - The ear padding, the sturdiness of the band, and the metal wires which allow you to choose the right fit are all made to last. Efficiency - The electronic option is a gamechanger. Completely altered the landscape in ear protection when it came out. Being able to hear normal conversations on the range while protecting your ears from loud reports is amazing. I am former law enforcement and this technology just didn't exist when I was in the academy. It is a worthy investment and will last a long time if you take care of these earmuffs.
