  • IMHO, These are Exceptional.
Color: Black
I purchased these in March of 2024 and have been using them off and on since then. There are several features that I really like, e.g., being able to go from muting the ambient sounds to incrementally increasing it from zero to level 7 is great because that allows you to dial in the perfect mix to your liking. There are 4 modes that actually work and do make a significant difference as you toggle through them from Universal, Clear Voice, Power Boost and HF (High Frequency) Boost to get the better sounds for what you're doing. There's an amazing variable Sound Activation Compression (SAC) mode that is set by default and while your Ambient noise level is activated and say, a loud sound such as a gun shot, etc., occurs, it will automatically and instantly decrease that sound down to 24 db., which is rated at a Library Whisper Quiet level at 6 feet, then the ambient sound level returns back to the level you had set. I find this option exceptional when out shooting from the Range to the Field. However, one kind of irritating Con is that the wind is annoying even though they boast Dynamic Wind Reduction, but for the price and excellent quality of these, and I don't actually know what it would be if it wasn't reduced, it's something I can live with. The battery life is Ok, but one nice redeeming option with these is that they come with a portable recharging case, so if needed you can take a break and charge them back up even a few times if needed and that's a nice option to have in the field or anywhere you don't have another charging option. I've read a post or two thumbing down the option to swipe up or down on the buds for increasing/decreasing the ambient noise, but I didn't find that a minus if you take a few minutes and adjust your fine motor skills and with practice, I found that to be very convenient. The foam tips also I found to be a great fit and still comfortable if you take a few seconds and roll them between your fingertips to warm them up and then insert them in your ears and hold them in there for10 plus seconds to allow them to expand nicely which adds to their ability to muffle outside noise and helps them to be more comfortable. Overall, I give the Walker Silencer BT 2.0 Ear Buds a 5 Star rating (would actually be a 4.5 Stars because the Dynamic Wind Reduction feature doesn't really do a great job, IMHO) but not enough to drop full Star. I think the price, quality of materials and sound quality are superior to some of the other options out there I've tried and didn't like nearly as well. ... show more

  • Waste of Money
Color: Black
I bought these for working with Scouts on the range. It helps if I can hear their questions while coaching them, and with so many youth on the ready line I like to know what's going on around me. They worked well for the first few weeks, then started having problems connecting to the app... which was clunky and difficult to use anyway. When they started disconnecting randomly while I was shooting, I tossed them in the safe and went back to the earmuffs. A year later I decided to give them another shot. The app has been updated so it was easier to use, but the earbuds won't hold a charge. They'll only charge for about 10min before the lights go off, then I reset them in the case and they're good for a few more minutes. Even when I coax them up to 50%, they work but I can literally watch the power level drop in the app about 1% per second. They went from 55% to 0% in less than a minute. Short answer, they didn't work well to begin with and now 2 years later they won't even hold a charge. For something this expensive from a trusted (?) brand I was expecting better. Wish I'd saved my money and gone with something different. ... show more

  • Works for me
Color: Black
I'm a USPSA Open gun competitor and as you would know the Open gun's are loud. With the comp on the end some RO's complain of the loudness, oh well. I've used Walker Razer ear muffs for a few years. After a Match the pressure to the sides of my head was just getting to be too much. So, found these on Amazon for sale at $127 and jumped on these. Used them for practice twice at 400 rounds each time and for about 3hrs a session. Works for me, I hear people have problems but it's all good for me. Comfortable too, no noticeable excess ear pressure and no more side head "bear trap" pressure for the ear muffs. Like them much better. The Bluetooth works good too, up to a certain distance, after about 75 feet, which is pushing it the earbuds still work, just loses contact with my phone, which I had in my car at the time. No problem, I will just keep my phone in the gear bag. Actually all I need to do if connected to the phone is just make any adjustments and shut the phone off. Earbuds still work and if I need adjustments, just get the phone back on and make changes. Works good with my phone music, either from my files or Panadora. I can control the volume level on the phone when it's even off, nice feature. The Music quality is very good, got some nice bass too, as I listen to Progressive House. You can control the Music volume too on the ear buds. Just swipe the left ear bud up or down. To pause the music, just tap once the left ear bud. Nice feature. To insert the buds, just compress the soft foam by not touching the end piece by holding the sides only. Once in, touch the left earbud for 2 seconds, once on it's say, "Walkers" then touch the right earbud for 2 seconds. If you have the phone app running or not, it will connect to your phone and say, "Connected". To shut off, hold the ends a for more than 8 seconds. To get the app to work, which you can find at the App Store, you need to make sure your phone is connected to the earbuds. With the earbuds on, check your phone for bluetooth. Should be listed and get the phone to connect. Get in that phone and find the settings. When firing my Open gun, it has a different sound than the ear muffs, as it's muted for sure and I can for sure still hear the gun go off, just not as loud and all is good. ... show more

  • Good tactical sound amp and bt audio outdoors
Color: Black
These are priced well for non-custom ear pro. The sound quality is good outdoors, but wind noise can be a problem in a strong breeze or higher. Indoors it got too much reverb from gunshots and the audio amp didn't work well. Wind filter foam would be a nice improvement for the mics. Bluetooth works well with either a late-gen phone or a digital radio. Expect noticeable rx/tx delay if using with DMR. BT volume is separate control from sound amp volume. Box includes 3 different sizes of foam inserts. The process to get them into your ears the first few times is not easy, but the foam is comfortable and stays all day if worn correctly. Battery lasts about 6-7 hours with sound amp active and BT constantly connected. If you have 2 sets you can swap back and forth, use the cases to recharge in the field and be covered for about a day and a half, maybe longer. ... show more

  • They work better then I imagined! Highly recommend!
Color: Black
What an awesome bit of technology I never new existed! These were great on my hunt trip in Colorado! Comfortable enough to wear all day, battery lasted all day. Carry case recharges when fast. I could hear all my surroundings. Bluetooth worked great! Moto G7 w/Android 10. Now the coolest part, they really do suppress gun fire. I shoot a .338. It's a cannon! Ive had to shoot without protection before. Not fun. These suppressed the gun fire from my big rifle with ease. Was amazing when I tested them at the range before the hunt. I just left them in the entire session. I could here and talk with everyone and never had to fiddle with pulling foams out of my ears. As good as they are, they are not perfect. But I'm keeping it a 5 star review. Room for improvement: wind noise is a bit annoying. Not awful, but the microphone does cut in and out. I could see how some reviewers didn't like this. It was something I knew would be there. 90% it was great though. Ear Foams- they lasted the entire hunt trip, so they are good quality. But, walkers needs to sell sets of the correct size, not just variety packs. Once you know your size, why purchase any other sizes. Just a waste and probably a way to simply make more money down the road. Bonus, these worked great this fall cleaning up leaves with a leaf blower, listening to music, and being aware of my surroundings as I live in a busy street. If you're on the fence, get them! I chose to buy from Amazon incase I didn't like them. Easy returns. Fortunately, they met all my expectations, and then some! 100% recommend these! ... show more

  • Bad Batteries
Color: Black
I recently started a part time job as a RSO and I wanted something other than the typical Muff style hearing protection that has been around for years. After wearing Muff style "cans" for hours at a time I start to get headaches. I have tried different brands, even styles of traditional range headphones and they just are not comfortable to me. So when I found out that Walker had come out with a pair of earbuds I was excited to try them. So let's start with the good: Set up: There are 3 different sizes of inner ear foam and rubber pieces that help to lock the buds into your ear so they don't fall out. Once I found my size I could hardly tell I had them in. Setting up the app was easy but the instructions are written so small even with my glasses on I had to take a picture with my cellphone to see it. Once I watched a video to help with the syncing process the ear buds worked great. Comfort: Great! Didn't pull down on my ears at all or bother my inner ear canal. I would even forget I had them in at times. Charging case: I love this! The fact that when I take a break I can pop them out, put them in a case to charge while taking a break, and put them in my pocket works for me. Clarity: I could hear people clearly without the gun fire hurting my ears. I want to say they reacted faster than the Walker noise suppression Muffs we also use on the range. The Bad: Ok, so you are probably wondering why the 3 stars? I have had 2 pairs of these in 1 week from Amazon and I sent both of them back. The first pair arrived on a Monday. I fully charged the case and the buds before adjusting the size and fit. After that I set them up, found the right fit, got them synced, and it all went down hill from there. The app read 51% charge and immediately I was getting an audible warning that the left bud was low of power. I could watch the power level in the app tick down and after about a minute the buds shut off. I filled out the return option on Amazon and once that was down I immediately had a confirmation that a new pair was on the way. Second pair: When the second pair arrived I had them set up and charged. Popped them in for a bit and app ready 97% charge and seemed to work. Saturday morning I go into work for a day on the range and after about 30 or so minutes I get a audible warning that the right bud is low on charge. I double checked the app and it still said 97% charge. So after about 5 minutes they shut down. UGH!! I would love to have a pair that actually work and hold a charge but I am not trying this a third time. My recommendation is try at your own risk. I have read and been told great things about Walker products but my experience was different. I may try again in the future but for now I will stick to traditional Muff style protection. ... show more

  • Great for the price
Color: Black
I tried two pair of isotune calibers before getting these. First set of the isotunes arrived D.O.A. Amazon took care of the replacement, no problem. Returned the second set of isotunes for these, becasue the isotunes were just horrible at noise cancelation and fell short in other areas also. These were cheaper any way. I was skeptical of these because every set of over the ear walkers I have tried, the ambient sound sounds like someone has recorded a live conversation on cassette tape and was playing it back. Nothing like the sound quality of MSA Sordins. But these have good ambient sound. Noise cancelation is great. Can't report on battery life because I haven't used them enough yet. The only two things I've found, so far that would be negative on these is the size of the case is huge compared to the isotunes and other in ear buds but hopefully they will make that up with recharging of battery life on the buds themselves. Also the ear tips get hard if they are cold. Makes squishing them down a little difficult when you are trying to put them in. I had them in a pouch outside of my hunting pack in just above freezing weather and the tips were hard to get squished down to insert in my ears. Next time I'll at least put them in my jacket pocket for my walk to stand. The tips are very dense to start with which should help with noise cancelation. I like the fact they have an app for adjustments because with touch control on the buds its a bit difficult with chilled fingers. But hey, even the samsung buds I wear for work are touchy on the touch controls. ... show more

  • Not for Construction Work
Color: Black
These amplify noise, but thats about it. These are supposed to be active noise protection, i have cheap $30 earbuds that do a better job. I ussd these foe a few months just trying to get used to them.... but i cant stand them. Im an electrician, on the job theses are irritating, and almost useless..i am constantly stopping to manually cut the microphones to lower the noise level because they are not cancelling the noise like they are supposed to. They make the jobsite louder, you hearing everything you dont need to hear. The different modes are uselss...why is there a high frequency amplification mode when your trying to cut high frequency noise??? Someone cutting with a sawzall 5 ft away, drills, saws, hammering, the microphones pick up and amplify the noise. Unless your right on top of whatevers loud they dont engage the noise cancellation, which is extremely frustrating given the price. The batteries dont last. The bluetooth doesnt connect unless the left headphone is on. If it dies before the right no more music. You cant control the microphone input and noise levels unless the right headphone has power. If it dies you have to use the app, which doesnt work half the time. It Says your not connected to them when you are. If its windy out they are awful constantly getting noise from the mics. All and all awful. Dont buy them if your in the trades. ... show more
