These hangers are not as thick as the OEM. They fit perfectly. I don't see an issue with the side to side thickness they seem to be strong enough for everyday use. You can't beat the price. I haven't had any issues with the product to this point.

I replaced the exhaust on my 2006 4 X 4 Z71 Avalanche from the end of the "Y" pipe back using Walker Exhaust products. The Walker rubber hangers are no where near as well made as the OEM, the OEM ones are longer (these are a wast of your money, unless yours are shot reuse them) and more noise and vibration isolating. The intermediate pipe is either short or the hanger rod is not in the correct location as the rubber hanger doesn't hang straight (the hanger is pulled forward) down when this pipe is installed. The muffler could be short as well as the hangers (2) for the tail pipe are pulled forward as well. The muffler is other wise well made and provides the quiet I wanted. The tail pipe is short as well because when it's fully inserted into the outlet of the muffler the rubber hangers are pulled so far forward that I had to get a 2 3/4" dim. X 2 3/4" X 3" extension or "adapter" to make the whole thing work correctly. Walker spends a LOT of time on their web site blowing their horn on how they make stuff to factory specs, my OEM pipes were 3" and the hanger rods were properly placed. They have a Customer Service Phone Number on the site; I'm not too sure when they think working people work on vehicles, it's open Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The inlet could be better identified for folks that don't do mufflers all the time. The muffler is marked with an arrow and the word inlet next to it. You have to look at it to see how ambiguous it seems, I mean does it mean the inlet is the end it's pointing at or does the arrow indicate direction of exhaust gas flow? I would prefer that the arrow only indicate direction of flow, that's easy to figure out. On the Walker web site is a forum of sorts, search for how to ID the inlet of a muffler and you get ZERO results. Search for a General Theory of Installation and you get ZERO results. There should be instructions on the site or in the box to ID the inlet, how to clock the muffler relative to the vehicle, and how much pipe insertion is safe when using exhaust clamps. ... show more

It was easy to install. Maybe a little to easy as very little pressure on it to install it. Makes me wonder just how sturdy it is and how long it will last. My OEM one lasted sense 2005 when the truck was new as it is on my 2005 Silverado.

Old and disintegrating, the original OEM part on my 2005 suburban was on the verge of complete failure. This replacement part, while it is not as large as the OEM part, accomplishes the same basic function. However due to the smaller width, it has the potential to allow more swaying (side to side) movement of the muffler assembly. That being said I question whether this difference from the OEM part will lead to other issues. Time will tell, however and in any case, the price was right!! ... show more
