Easy to put together, did it by myself, the key is tipping the unit upright slightly earlier than suggested in the directions and I did have to balance half the unit on my left leg while adding the back walls, so if you have another person readily available to assist, it's a good idea. Unit puts out plenty of heat to warm my living room and when I have an actual fire going in the wood stove on colder nights, it's nice to just have the faux fire going on the unit. Unit is sturdy, however, my television is wall mounted and does not sit on this, but there is plenty of room for Blu-ray player and two gaming consoles (Xbox and Wii) in the space above the faux fire. Glass does not get hot, which is another plus since the dogs and cat like to lie in front of it for warmth. ... show more

The original price for this was $489. It was on sale for $188 so I bought it. I would have sent it back had I paid the full amount. It is made of particle board and the finish scratches easily. For $188 it is worth the price. It is plenty sturdy, it looks nice, and the fireplace is pretty and the heat is adequate for a smaller room. Some reviews said it was hard to put together and the instructions were not good. I think maybe they hadn't put many things together. I do it more often and found using instructions to be very good. The process is well thought out and goes in a helpful flow. I put it together myself in about 2 hours but I took my time so I didn't make any mistakes. Wow, people aren't kidding when they say it takes time! I am married to a general contractor but I like to do these types of things alone. I started at 4pm had to stop by 4:30, came back about 8-11pm and finished the next day about an hour later. The only help I needed was installing the angled side pieces, otherwise I was able to tackle this alone. LOVE the finished look, I mean it isn't a fancy piece of furniture but fits our small corner and gives us a cool little fireplace! ... show more

I love this. The wood is high quality. The fireplace is so cozy with nice flames. Throws a decent amount of heat. My only disappointment is there is no remote but I probably sit too much anyway. I’m really enjoying it.

The stand looks nice, but was not easy to put together. The top measurements are slightly off. I measured my tv and the legs of the tv to be sure that it would fit the specs. When I got the stand, my tv literally barely fits on the top of the stand. The quality is ok, not spectacular. When it's all put together, it looks nice and the fireplace insert seems to work well...looks nice and produces enough heat to warm up our small sun porch. ... show more

First, PAY ATTENTION to the instructions - there's a part in which it's almost together, and it needs to be stood up. You either need TWO PEOPLE, or to find an alternate way to pick it up, as the first time, the whole thing ripped in half. Fortunately, I was able to get a quick replacement right before Christmas, and once I got it together and properly stood, it's adorable. It fits our TV (MEASURE THE SPACE between your TV's feet!!) just barely, but the stand sits in the corner so nicely. The cupboards are angled, so keep in mind they won't fit a ton, but for a handful of DVDs and games, it's nice. The little fireplace is cute and heats up our living room quite nicely. ... show more
