Top Amazon Reviews

  • I love this desk! Solid purchase!
I don't know that I could write a review that others have not. I work from home, and I wanted a desk that gave me the same space as my office cubicle. I really looked around on Amazon and my local furniture stores trying to find something that I thought would give me the most space, but also the most bang for my buck. At first, I was looking at wood desks that also came with a hutch. Although this would be a desk were I work from home, I wanted space for personal day-to-day storage and use. Most of what you'll find out there is $350+. The struggle was trusting the product. A lot of reviews said that the wood looked cheap or that at first it was great but the wear on it was starting to show and it had been less than a year. I have a small apartment so I decided to slim my search down. I just needed a desk that gave me the work space I needed and I could buy storage as needed. I found this desk. A similar desk offered at my local furniture store is $300. The only difference is a little shelf that came with it. This desk has so many good reviews that I thought I'd be nuts not to buy it. I really took my time to read through the reviews. First I started with most recent, then I went to the negative reviews and why they were given. Some I feel are unfair. People who didn't read and then decided to take it out on the company. The information is there, and dimensions are there, it's your job to read it. It came packaged very well. The instructions are very easy to read. I read some reviews where they said the instructions were hard to follow. I've put together a lot furniture. I'm one of those crazy people that love putting together furniture. I've seen instructions where I'm like "what the heck are they talking about..." but this isn't one of them. Every single item is labeled with little stickers. The directions were very clear which item you needed, when you needed it and how to attach it. Now, if you're like me and didn't properly read (impatient), then you might have made a mistake here or there and had to correct it, but again, that's not the sellers fault. I think most people no longer have desk top computers - I could be wrong - but I'm using this for my laptop and a dual monitor. I didn't bother putting the little square tower holder thing on. I will say - I have small hands. I'm a also a woman who is 5' 3", so I'm not very big. I find the key board tray is a little small. My wireless keyboard isn't big at all, it's very slim. When I put it on the shelf and try typing, my fingers hit the top of the desk. I just feel like there isn't a lot of room and it's distracting to keep hitting the top. BUT - to be fair, I'm probably not typing at the true form a person should use. =} Personally, even if it were bigger, I still don't think I would use it. I like having my keyboard on the top of the desk. I just took off the key board tray. I like to rest my feet on the little bars - and my knee kept hitting the shelf =P All in all, it's a pretty great desk. I love it. I would absolutely recommend it. For the price, you really can't beat it. Even when I move and set up a home office space, I will continue to use this desk and just buy furniture to give me more storage. I bought a black metal file cabinet and sat it next to the desk. Looks great! It almost looks like it came with the desk and is attached - bought it from Walmart for $40. The reviews on this item speak for themselves. This is clearly a very solid product and this is a very solid company. When I'm looking for things in the future, I'll definitely check around to see what they have to offer. ... show more

  • Nice Desk; Great for Soldering or Chemistry Kits
I wanted a large desk with a glass top to work on some chemistry kits I'd purchased, and to do some light soldering and hot glue work on since messes would clean up considerably easier on the glass. The desk is easy to build, needing only a Phillips screwdriver (not supplied), and a small hex key/wrench (supplied). The part that may frustrate some people involves the keyboard tray, as it may take a bit of adjusting along the oblong holes to get it to open and close evenly (the left and right sliders should lock together, not one before the other). Just be patient and think about the adjustments you're making and the effect they will have. A little adhesive remover (like Goo Gone, or even Pine-Sol) was helpful after removing the stickers from the glass and metal parts. The desk I received was the unit pictured in the 360-degree rotational view (notice that it is different from the picture shown, though this may change any time after posting this). Seems quite sturdy to me, and I like being able to put my laptop on the center section, between the desks. Overall, a very good value for what I paid for it, though I see the price fluctuates considerably. ... show more

  • Pretty awesome looking little desk
This desk was kinda annoying to put together, but I’m not someone who enjoys puzzles or assembling things. But after finally accomplishing that , I’m very happy with the desk. It’s sturdy, it’s sleek , and stylish . It suits my needs, and has not given me any issues

  • This Desk Made the Perfect Choice for a New PC Gaming Battlestation!
So, my best friend and I are both avid PC Gamers. We get together at his house for a few days of gaming pretty frequently, and I didn't have a decent desk to use when I'm over there. His desk also wasn't the greatest, and we'd both always wanted an L-Shaped desk. So, we each bought one of these and created a "Command Center" at his house! One serves as his every day "Battlestation," and the other serves as mine when I'm over there. It's perfect! Let me start by saying that these desks are quite heavy, and feel very, very sturdy. The box that they ship in weighs around 60 pounds, and no, that's not mostly packing materials; that's pure desk weight! Once assembled and leveled properly, these have absolutely no "give" or wiggle to them whatsoever, so I have no quarrels with putting my very expensive computer tower and monitor on it. Assembly of these was relatively easy. Just make sure you pay careful attention to the instructions, as there are moments during the assembly that you could accidentally use the wrong screw and end up having to take it back out. Given that the screws are all hex bolts, it's a minor annoyance if, like me, you despise hex wrenches compared to screwdrivers, haha! Once assembled, these are a great addition to just about any office, workspace, gaming room, etc. Literally my only quarrel with this desk is the horizontal bars that run through the leg space of where you'll be sitting. I prefer to sit quite close to my desk, and I found that when I did so, I'd often end up hitting my shins on these support bars. This was easily remedied, however. I headed to my local Lowe's and bought a piece of foam pipe insulation, cut the pieces to size, and slipped them over the bars for padding! You'll see that in the pictures. The only other complaint that I have is that a part of my glass came with about a two inch surface scratch on it. It's not a big enough deal for me to deduct a star though, seeing as I covered the glass surfaces with a black Clorox Shelf Liner from Walmart anyways (which I intended to do before I even bought the desk). You'll see in my pictures that I added quite a bit to the desk. Not only did I cover the glass with liner, I attached (with cable ties) Hardboard from Lowe's to the sides, and made a little cubby in the back to hide cables in because I have OCD, lol. I've also stuck LED strips to the underside of the glass to enhance the aesthetics. All in all, I am very pleased with this desk! It's the perfect height, has plenty of room to sit and to work, and is very, very sturdy! ... show more
